Hmmm. Shape and health… no clue what that means. 🤪 The Luxe Mini Peak looks great! I was looking at one for a winter camp as you can pick up the Luxe with 4 season inner for around $260. Unfortunately I’m not getting out too much these days as I have a very sick dog and am spending all my nights cuddled with her. I definitely appreciate the info. Nice to see what others are actually taking out on trail!
I got that tent and I love it except for the way the doors are used if you use the fly after it rains. You learn quickly to deal with it but a vestible would take care of this problem.
Agreed 100%. I have plans to either do tent giveaways or donate them to the scouts, but I’m actually keeping this one. Overall, solid tent once you get used to the odd entry.
There is another version of this tent out there with a full fly so the door is covered. Sadly, Walmart doesn't carry that version, but I'm sure you can find one under another brand name out there. I'd spray the fly, and bathtub area with waterproofing spray before using this. Fiberglass poles break too often for my taste.

Not a good look for Magellan. 😢

Strangely enough i have an old (the current model is a bit different) 2 person dome tent from Ozarks that is notably smallwe than this one when packed up. It's a 7ft×7ft tent with a 42" height at the center. Kind of surprised the one person is bigger when packed up. Maybe the poles are in longer segments? This one man is surely lighter but I wanted to mention the size difference because it may be the other offerings from Ozark are more packable than this one. *Edit:* The dome tents use that annoying sleeve style to hold the poles. Not a deal breaker for sub $40, but the one person has clips to hold the poles so that is nice.
I’ve got an old done tent from them and find it’s also smaller when packed up. I think they could have trimmed the pole sections down to 8” on this and it would be a good size to stuff in a backpack. I do LOVE the clips more than the sleeves though. Seems the poles always come apart mid-sleeve. 🥲
The current OT models measure: 1P: 7'x4'x36" 2P: 7.5'x4.5'x42" 3P: 7'x7'x44" But I think the dimensions on the 2P are smaller than the one I bought about a dozen or so years ago. I wasn't really interested in this 1P tent beyond its dimensions. It's so close to the 2P that it would be a fairly good deal if it weren't for the fact that pretty much everything else is a bit lacking.
I'll add what I figured out, I added a simple painters cloth 8x8 for $1 at dollar tree, or 2 trash bags and put them as the tarp for the tent and completely makes this rain proof.
Solid plan! I’ve got a 10x10 that I’ve set up lean-to style over this and it’s excellent. I’ve actually used this tent quite a bit and it’s holding up well!
