You forgot to mention, at its peak AI was one for the best, if not the best airlines to fly... And it was Air India that trained and helped stand Singapore Airlines !!

It really exciting to see Tata take such progressive and aggressive steps !
We've always known Tata as a sleeper company, with legacy so rooted in Indian history that they could essential be a second government.
To their credit they were never tyrants though but safe players.
Now to see the grand elephant running like a cheetah is a real delight and it won't be long before they become one of the most successful companies in the world up there with Apple, Toyota and Disney.

This is going to be a masterclass in synergy play. Ground support Electric vehicles from TATA. Inflight merchandise from Tata consumers, TREND and Tata croma. Aircraft assembled by TATA using chips manufactured by Tata Aerospace and steel sourced from TATA STEEL

    • @death_parade
      @death_parade 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Aircraft mostly use aluminum and titanium alloys and CFRP for its structures. Not Steel. Steel is just a small bit, mostly used in landing gears. And manufacturing landing gears that massive itself needs a massive hydraulic press the likes of which only one company in India (Aequs Aerospace) has.
If Tata is serious about becoming an aerospace giant, they need to get their foot in not only though all the JVs they are doing by making structures and fuselages for the likes of Boeing, but also by forming a JV with HAL to bid for the ADA's AMCA 5th gen fighter jet. Then partner with CSIR's NAL for the RTA-70. And then slowly invest in deep R&D and start making its own planes.
Tata has serious potential to be the Airbus or Boeing or Comac or Sukhoi of India. Embraer was a missed opportunity, but even then, Tata is in a good position to become India's premier aerospace giant, leaving even behemoths like HAL in the dust. What it needs is a vision and serious intent. Much greater than what was needed for Air India's turn around.

The Sale and leaseback of the B787's never materialised.
The government later decided against it, deciding it was better to leave it with some assets to still make the company a bit more valuable for whoever that Buy's it.
And since the B787 have all been largely paid for, AI doesn't have to worry about monthly/yearly lease payments.

Air India is seeing huge changes and improvements. Earlier widespread nepotism and corruption resulted in Air India generating almost no revenue from business class and 1st class. Most of the passengers in these cabins were politically connected, senior government officials or people with connections who booked economy class and travelled in business or first class.
After the privatization these cabins are 90% occupied by paying customers. However my sources and data analysis indicate that Air India is loosing about 10% to legacy nepotism and corruption by legacy staff. I expect this to come down significantly as the Air India is focusing on these losses.

Exciting times ahead for Air India after decades of sub standard service across the board. Being in the travel industry, I got to meet the 4th in charge just last year in Delhi. He was accepting of what’s been but said ‘please give us two years’. This period will see new aircraft as in the A350, revamped 787 & 777 versions, better catering, service and staff. Now it’s privately owned by TATA, they will ensure AI gets back to what it once was and will hopefully become an airline you want to fly with not just because it’s the lowest fare. Onwards 🛫

When they brought in a foreign player like Singapore airlines, the difference in services were like night and day and can be literally seen as a passenger. Vistara does not feel Indian and nobody would think it is an airline from India, that's how good it is compared too all other airlines in India. They should just allow Top airlines from other countries to fully operate in India with some Indian brand name 😆, at the end of the day service is what matters and that's what India lacks in.

I still won't fly this airline until they require customers to shower and wear deodorant and antiperspirant before boarding the plane.

Air india is not doing good it is colonising india national carrier by removing hindi naming and maharaja. When asked they say English naming signify bold modern and world class. Is this not colonising as hindi is now inferior again after British left india. Shameful and I as an indian is ashamed of Tata takeover and will never travel on air india until atleast hindi is back

Screw you and your Hindi. English gives access to opportunities.. Hindi is for selling pani puris and pakodas😂 people should learn local language and English instead of forcing dumb Bimaru language on other states.

I still think they should use the maharaja logo
