This term was derived from the river Indus, which marked the western boundary of British India. The British colonial administration used "India" as the official name.

The Out of India hypothesis is a desperate attempt to reconcile linguistic, archaeological and genetic evidence with Hindutva sentiment and nationalistic pride, but it cannot reverse time’s arrow. The earliest proof of horses being ridden and yoked to spoke-wheeled chariots appears in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, not India. The words for flora and fauna common across Indo-European languages are of animals and plants that flourish in temperate rather than tropical or subtropical climates. For example, words for the birch tree (Sanskrit: भूर्ज, bhūrjá) are similar in dozens of Indo-European tongues, while India’s national tree provides no Indo-European root. In fact, most European languages use a variety of “banyan”, a modern term derived from observing Indian traders (or banias) conducting business in the generous shade of these trees.

For those who dont know, Singapore the name is derived from Indian-Hindi/Sanskrit language wherein Singha - means lion and Pore - which is the sanskrit suffix for a town, it also has an alternative meaning - complete/filled. India has many many cities named as such like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhagalpur, Balrampur, Dispur and the lest goes on.. Same goes for Kuala lumpur, malaysia. Jayapura in Indonesia, Janakpuram in Nepal …etc. Sri lanka, Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal also have Sanskrit originated names. Even China’s name is believed to have Indian/Sanskrit origin although i am not sure of it. The Sanskrit name for China, Cīna, stems from the ‘Qin’ dynasty. The Persian word for China, Cin, is based on this Sanskrit word and it was the Persian form that was popularised by Europeans.
For those who dont know, Singapore was known in the 13th to 14th century as Temasek, with its name being changed to Singapura perhaps towards the end of 14th century

This is an important and much needed discussion. Many, not even those from India, know the great influence Indian rulers and religion had and still continue to have in Southeast and East Asia. India and Bharat are both same. Bharat was an ancient name of India. During British colonial rule (approximately 1757-1947), the British referred to the Indian subcontinent as "India." This term was derived from the river Indus, which marked the western boundary of British India. The British colonial administration used "India" as the official name.
So was China influencing them and today India has no chance of success of there. Most of them donot look like Indian at all.

What is going on with these indians here? I found out!
Very informative! The insights by the intervewee & questions, both present interesting geo-historical pic in brief. 👍🏽

Same goes for Kuala lumpur, malaysia. Jayapura in Indonesia, Janakpuram in Nepal …etc.

why indi likes to peddle rubbish? Is whole country full of them?.. It was an drunken indonesian prince or somebody who name it.. Hindu king becomes a dalit if he sailed across sea to anywhere.
Hindu=/=Endian Pjeeet, he was a Malay hindu king.
Singapore itself is a sanskrit name. Singh means Lion & pore means city. Singapore means the city of lions in Sanskrit.
No lions ever existed in Singapore

I wouldn't recommend his name. He has glorified Mughals disproportionately
Check your blood. Without Mughal, you have yet to be born. That is disrespectful to your papa
He is a propagandist.

If he is a propagandist, then read the huge thread on "japan and hindu gods" with 180+ comments to find out why India never had never gone through any period of "civilization". This should be a great guide for anybody wanting to do business with India. It gives a very comprehensible view and help understand why negotiation could fail.
Because they are not secluded to one region that we call India in modern days. Hinduism is all together a conglomerate of south Asia, East Asia and south east Asian cultures.
Buddhism is their success. They took the best aspects which promoted work ethic, discipline, cleanliness and we stuck with the superstitious nonsense.
South Korea has adopted ✝️ and Japan is on the verge of becoming either ✝️Or ☪️. Indonesia and Malaysia become ☪️. Asia tough times ahead....🙏🙏🙏🙏

@Batega_toh_Katega_Hindu_108 why lied about India being a peaceful place.. It is more like hellonearth, and that is why so many other religions came out of it. You think Buddha can get enlightenment in a land of peace? It is the opposite. Why in land of equality, rich and peaceful do protestors need to burn copies of The Manusmriti ? The definitive source of caste discriminations and oppressions.
@biggpicture2930 🤣🤣🤣🤣Bring me one country which has been attacked by Invaders more than 100 times and still has his culture intact. lol... again. Another self delusional comparison that Chinese and Indian are similar.
- The armies in Shang dynasty defeated the indo Aryan whereas indian got conquered by them. proof: The captured leaders were used for human sacrifice and their soldiers remains were still kept inside the museum in Henan province for display.
- Chinese culture, philosophy and social norms e.g. integrity, honesty, piety, humbleness were long existed since their Zhou dynasty.
- Current systems that are still practised by the Chinese e.g. political, diplomatic, military tactics/ strategy, writings.. They are the same or similar systems that existed since Qin dynasty.
- Religious: The only belief the Chinese have are their ancestry heritage and their pride as Chinese.
Chinese is the only standing continue Civilisation on Earth in the world today whereas India is totally a different entity to the ancient Harrapan civilisation or the Asoka's one.

To be precise Tamil civilization was rich and influenced East to West which attracted Khyber Pass migration/Invasion and later European colonizers to the land now called Indian subcontinent. Persian Avestan mix with mispronounced Tamil became Sanskrit, example Tamil Singa they mispronounce as Simha. Tamil words "Singa" and "ore" combine to follow Tamil grammar and pronunciation become Singapore shows the name predates Sanskrit. Ancient Tamils influences throughout Asia evident from thousands of Tamil origin words in Japanese, Koreans, Malay/Indonesian, Tagalog etc. Ancient Tamil settlements in Quanzhou, Bodidarmar teachings. Asian royals follow Tamil traditions like Royal coronation of Thailand using Tamil Trivampawai similar to Chola Emperors. Tamil influence on Europe/World through Greek/Latin are yet to be exposed. Example Parliament is Tamil origin Paralumanram.
Indonesia is already Hindu even before the chola came ......
Don't confuse Animistic with Hindu
@@andreamessiasgomes7118 They're right. The Chola Empire did not spread Hinduism to Indonesia. It was there already.

Even tamil kings patronise sanskrit language becoz it is used as international link langauge. And tamil are indians too. We are part of one nation and we should not fight over unessarily things
Ravana was a Srilankan Brahmin and he composed Shiva Tandav Stotram in Sanskrit. Parshurama the desciple Lord Shiva founded Kerala, Kiskindha Andra Pradesh indigenous people like Hanumanji was sanskrit grammerien, Panini who gave Tamil language was Sanskrit grammerian he made classical sanskrit from vedic sanskrit, all Indian state lanagues evolved from sanskrit not from Tamil. Vedas, Ramayan, Mahabharat, Puranas, samhitas, etc are all in sanskrit. there is no evidence of Tamil outside of Tamil Nadu what are you talking about? communist Dravidian separatist Tamil supremacy.
@@Batega_toh_Katega_Hindu_108 People get influenced from every culture. All these Puranas were written in a language called Pali and not Sanskrit. Sanskrit did not exist as late as 1 BC. Even mauryan kings used the Pali language to inscribe and not sanskrit as the language did not exist. Also Tamils were busy writing their own stories instead of writing random stuffs, that's why Tamils have more than 60% of the literature in the whole country of India, which talks about people, food and culture.
Thai king's name is Rama.
