I love how Willie will go off on tangents and pace the song however the heck he feels like, and the band still doesn't miss a beat and delivers a performance all nicely wrapped and with a bow on top.

Seeing Willie play onstage was the first arena concert I ever attended, in 1976. I was about 10 and we went as a whole family to see him onstage with Waylon Jennings. Been lucky enough to see Willie play live onstage many times in the decades since and he never disappoints. So glad he's still out there making music and making a difference in the world
1976 was in the absolute prime Willie and Family era. I also saw them in arena concert around the late 70s, one of the most memorable shows of my life.
That was a rocking band back in the 70s! Incredibly tight and groovy.
didnt appreciate Willie when I was a kid, but sure do now.
Willie is one of earth's greatest treasures.

His persistence and longevity only a handful get to experience and live, and he has had a way to nearly cross every genre
of music at one time or another while keeping true to himself.

All things considered his voice has held up fairly well, his guitar playing though...
I saw Willie a few months ago, and to be honest this is not his comfort zone. He performs much better out on a real stage with a real crowd of fans. And he usually plays pretty late. The Late Show is filmed during the day.
