    I know this is a pretty old post but I picked up one of these laptops used so I ran across this video. I really enjoyed the presentation and the fact that you are an actual artist and you showed us how this part of the laptop works. I also felt like you gave us a good overview of the laptops ports and features.

      Thank you very much for your comment. It is a very nice machine that is powerful and also good for artists. I hope it came with the pen. Enjoy it. Cheers!

      Yes well agreed! What a great and informative video. I have also been looking at this laptop for sometime on a list of my favorites to get. It serves so much purpose.
      It would be ideal if they were able to keep all the I/O at 14 in with similar internals 2 hard drives and dedicated GPU....but none the less a great laptop.
      Abd this review is by far one of the best to actually see how well it works with graphics versus many just showing drawing shapes or obscure lines.
      I really which they would update the HP. Zbook x2 - that one I really like since it can detach from the keyboard. An updated version of that I think would be most great.
      Excellent work on this video and stellar artwork. Gratitude.

    It's finally here! My review of the HP ZBook Studio X360 mobile workstation, a great mobile workstation for all kinds of production work that also converts into a cintiq-like painting tablet!

    • @Joeherman
      @Joeherman  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Eli Suryana Thanks Eli for the thoughtful comment. I agree with many of your points. I'm glad that it has the power of a serious mobile workstation combined with the painting and features of a high-end tablet. For many people it is the only computer they'll need (as you put it).

      which HP studio X360 g5 or hp zbook x2 laptop would you choose? Please check whether you can draw with a stylus from a Samsung tablet or phone on the hp zbook x2!

    • @Maks-vo3uo
      @Maks-vo3uo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Eli Suryana hp feathers are uncomfortable. aluminum is slippery too. and the stylus itself is thick. I think the standard should be styluses similar in ergonomics as the Samsung tab s3 poanchet
      I would like to have one kstroystao and milking work and rest, a laptop with an i7 8850h or 8750h processor and a P1000 video card would be enough for me for a long time and that it was all in the HP zbook x2 feed! I will take the zbook x2 because of the form factor with the Bluetooth keyboard and back stand, and the screen ratio. there are also buttons on the screen part of the tablet. I think this is what a laptop should be for drawing, and not only. I would like to have a numpad on the keyboard. when working with blender2. 8, it will be more convenient. and this model has a stylus without batteries.

      @@Joeherman Hi Joe! Thank you for replying.
      I'm a game art designer. I do mostly 2d arts. Like painting in photoshop , creating UI things in illustrator , and even running game engines. My zbook never fails me. Recently I start learning 3d artworks , and I think it can also get its work done. :)

    The fact you drew that on one layer amazes me lmao

    • @Joeherman
      @Joeherman  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha! Thank you. I actually like to do most of my painting on one layer. I used to make a ton of layers and all that happened was that I ended up collapsing them anyway. Now I only make another layer once in a while if I really need them. Anyway, painting on one layer kind of feels like you are painting on a canvas. Cheers to you.

    I have the 15.6" ZBook Studio x360 G5 with 32 gigs of ram and Dreamcolor display. The damn thing has wavy lines on a slower diagonal, pisses me off since I paid about 3k for everything. but it's frustrated to draw on. So I'm buying an Ipad to draw on. I have contacted the company but all they did is send me another pen that does the same thing.

    • @Joeherman

      @@Joeherman Don't get me wrong, If I'm drawing at my normal speed like for sketching or painting its good (might need to put smoothing on a little). But if I want to do something slow like work on my calligraphy, that's when it hurts me. But the pc does everything else I want it to (Graphic Design) just wish the drawing experience (for me) was better.

    Zbook studio x360 G5 vs thinkpad P1.... which will you recommend?
    Assuming both have the same price and spec:
    i7-8850h, P2000, 4K screen (non-dreamcolour),

    • @Joeherman
      @Joeherman  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say that the ThinkPad is somewhat lighter and more portable, but does not convert into a painting tablet like the x360. The x360 feels really solid. If portability is your main consideration, the P1 (or the ZBook Studio) is good. However, if you want a painting and inking solution, as demonstrated in the video, the x360 is hard to beat.

    • @j.w.ambrose4349
      @j.w.ambrose4349 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Joeherman Alright thanks! It's alot to consider... With student discount could get the x360 cheaper than the P1. But I am just worried about the weight and size of it. I love the P1 size and small slim charger, but it's battery life is worrisome.

    • @RandomPotatoProductions
      @RandomPotatoProductions 4 ปีที่แล้ว

       @J.W. Ambrose I heard that the Thinkpad has a 80 watt hour battery and the Zbook has a 96.5 or 97WHr one, so theoretically the zbook should last longer. However, the P2000 can have a negative impact on battery life, but you don't have the Dreamcolor panel (which further hurts battery life), so I guess you're still good.
      Actually, here:
      www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/hp-zbook-studio-x360-g5
      That model has a Xeon processor but it has a P1000 graphics card, and it still lasts over 9 hours doing normal stuff.

    • @Joeherman
      @Joeherman  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. I'm not sure what you mean by Palm rejection. Can you be more specific?

    • @BondiGowtham
      @BondiGowtham 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Joeherman while drawing with stylus on screen, the palm may also touch the screen which may create unwanted marks in drawing. If palm rejection feature is enable, the screen doesn't consider palm. It will consider only stylus. So that we should fully concentrate on the drawing without second thought of accidental touches.

      @@Joeherman well... it doesn't seem that weird to me. If you bought the all-decked-out version it's kinda logical that they could squeeze in the veloured box... at +4000€ it is reasonable... but for 2400€ you just can't expect a 4K screen, nor a 1TB ssd (only 512GB)... at "half" the price, they just have to cut corners... I mean... i did get the same chasis, same beefy battery, same 3 yr warranty, a decent 1080 screen, 16 GB of ram (with one free slot 😁), and the pen of course,... ok I didn't get the facial recognition and the SIM card... but for 2400€ I'm quite satisfied 😁
