I loved this blog kripal by the way you keep saying that you came in 1996 ans speak of ut as if it was ages ages ago than what about me who came. last to Bangalore in 1978 and only returned to see it in 2018 after a gap of exactly 40 years 😄, you will not believe it back than i never ever ever imagined that Bangalore would turn out to be what it is today , infact bangalore was what is a remote village in india today ,really i mean i remember there was a gap of a thousand yards between two houses 😂. Anyway i too have so many memories of this most beautiful city in india 👏👌👍🙏💐💝🇮🇳

Old Bangalore memories are our Old sweet memories too. Sir suddenly I remembered a place called CASA PICCOLA one of the oldest restaurant in Devatha Plaza, Residency road. Started by Oberoi brothers in 1979.

Thank you for the heartwarming bittersweet ride down old Bengaluru ,Mr.Kripal. Not everyone has good memories of it. But God preserved many of us. But that canopy of trees in the sun remain as peaceful and serene as always. Thank you for your authenticity.

Kripal Sir....lovely and thank you so much for showing me my love ...the beautiful one and only Bengaluru. When my father arrived in Bangalore in 1976 I was 8 years old...and today at 54 I have spent 46 years in this heaven. I am happy my destiny has kept me here......

Another nice video of old (my) Bengaluru. Your memory of the old airport is from 1996, you say. My first memory goes back to hmmm 1971, :) when we all went to see off my oldest brother going to Canada. In those days you could stand in the back of the building, watch them get on the plane and even see them in the little window of the plane.

Kripal Thank You so much. I think this vlog is especially and personally for me.
The airport, MG Road, Brigade Street, Talking about Plaza Theatre. Oh! I miss them so much. I can still figure out the busy streets at night near REX Theatre.
About St Marks Church, we used to attend there every Sunday, after the service Sunday School; Oh I Miss it! The Poem 'Give me the eyes of a lad that is gone' by Gustavas Gore (I may be wrong) came into my mind, you're bringing me back to the days when I was a lad, we attended the church in the morning 9:30am Services upto 11:00am I think so. Walking back to school in pairs, we used to buy Kulfi Ice Cream with Rs. 2/- near a petrol pump. DCM Toyota Trucks used to be parked there. (Coming out of St Marks walk a bit then turn left, the shop used to be open....I miss it.
Today in the noon and morning, Mizoram is hit by usual May Rainfall (pre-monsoon) and there was no power.
I am so happy on this vlog Kripal for craving out my memoirs there. So let me conclude my notes by this poem ' Give me the eyes of a lad that is gone' .
    THANK YOU SO MUCH, KRIPAL.

Will go down as one of my fav videos from your channel sir. Being a native Bangalorean and having grown up around the Old Airport area, your video rekindled so many memories from childhood, right from visiting and taking my first flight from the Old Airport, to Ring Road and Ameoba bowling centre which was one of the most happening places for the young crowd. The erstwhile popular restaurants, pubs and natural beauty of the city flashed before my eyes as you narrated your experiences. I also used to remember MG Road for Kids Kemp, the line of theatres it had (Symphony, Plaza, Galaxy), restaurants like Lakeview, not to forget the walkway on the side where the current metro line runs. Kemp Fort on Old Airport Road, as you mentioned, looked like a Disney Castle and was a dreamy place for us to visit.
It is so beautiful to see your connection with the city, truly imbibing the spirit of “Namma Bengaluru”. Thank you for making such beautiful content sir and please continue this series as it will help to showcase the beauty, history and heritage of this city to your viewers, both natives and those who have taken up the city as their new home in the recent few years.

I remember... lived in a house overlooking the airport runway back in 99 right after my college. We had a like a wall that separated us!! One of my room mate used to be guitar player... so the airplane noise was our background music for our jam sessions 😀So many memories related to the HAL airport!!
    1. Domlur - My first office
    2. MG Road - Brindavan hotel in MG Road for one of the best elai oota
    3. Barton center - Met my better half 18 years back in the Cafe Coffee day
    4. MG Rd / Brigade Rd / Church St / Residency Rd and surrounding.. all the pubs (Purple Haze being our standard hang out), Empire / Imperial after the night outs!!
    5. South Bangalore - Life around JP Nagar mini forest.. collection of friends in few apartments...
So many names in your vlog that evoked nostalgia.. not to say the "No traffic on roads".. not sure one can experience that in Bangalore any more these days!!

Very well done, Kripal. You drove through the most popular areas of Blore as I knew it back then. 1st up sad to see the state of old airport, that litter and garbage is not acceptable to be honest. The iconic building you mentioned on the left side on the Residency road was perhaps the Opera house. It had died by the late 90s and we used to eat kebabs in the evenings on our nights out. There was one very famous restaurant where you stopped or around thereabouts Casa Picola, not sure if it still exists. Keep Fort used to be like a Fort but doesn't look it anymore. All in all a very refreshing flash back of 30 years that have flown by.
