The whole layout of Jayanagar was planned by none other than our beloved Sir M Vishveshwarayya 🙏

It was not designed by Sir MV who was already in his 70s and had been a Diwan of Mysore by then not a town planning official. It was designed by CITB officials when Otto konisberger a German was chief architect and DS Ramegowda the main designer.

I am a north Indian who stayed in Jayanagar for ten years before I moved out of the place and later moved to another city. I haven't found any other neighborhood like it. You were right to mention the 'vibes' of this neighborhood. Only someone who has lived there as a local can get it. The video was excellent, and coincidentally I would speak in the same manner as you did while giving a tour to my friends who used to visit me. Refreshes all my memories.

That was a nostalgic ride thru' Jayanagara..especially on the southend circle where I would stay near the Yediyuru lake back in the '90s before the IT rush. Nilgiris' and Foodworld and the 4th block BDA complex were our favourite shopping places. It was like permenantly residing in a huge garden surrounded by fragrant colourful trees on the banks of a lake... Thanks for sharing this ride...

Yes. The south end circle road is very good, very green. I been on it 23 years back! Don't know how it looks now with the metro tracks. Just that, in those days, in the 2000s, i was more eager to be on the brigade road and mg road side than jayanagara.

I used to go to work for a while in Jayanagar. Hated my workplace, but loved the locality. Used to drive my Maruti Zen from my home in Hulimavu (off Bannerghatta Road) to the goddamned office in 3rd Block East. Used to love the bonda soup of the nearby Adigas. Have some good memories of roaming around Jayanagar in my car. Truly Old Bengaluru.

Great video. Pure nostalgia. Brings back old memories, of course, as I stayed in 9th Block in the '70s and '80s and consider it to be one of the best neighborhoods. But, cutting back to the present, what Jayanagar needs to really make it a complete all-rounded heavenly neighborhood are dedicated bicycle lanes, like in Amsterdam and other Dutch cities, in fact, in the whole of the Netherlands. These will enable everyone, old and young, switch to human powered vehicles, not just bicycles, but also bakfietsen (box bicycles), omafietsen ("grandma bicycles") and electric assist bicycles. This will also help motorcycle riders and car drivers.

How amazing it is when you are connected to a place where you spent some good years of your life even after you have moved to places in your life and in your heart you know you can go to that place and remember time you spent and feel the vibe specially when place is still well maintained, greenery is maintained, trees on both the sides of the road you are driving. Some places have power to give you different kind of feeling that cannot be explained in words, some places have power to make you feel better…

During my initial years after my marriage, we stayed in 4th East Block, just a few streets away from the 4th block. It was a very nice, cozy location with a great neighborhood. We also stayed in 7th Block in one of the old style villa houses and those were the golden times of our lives. This was almost 20 years ago.
Due to our fondness with this great locality, we decided to own our property close to Jayanagar. We are just 7 km away from Jayanagar on Kanakapura Road for the last 14 years. We love going to Jayanagar for most of our shopping needs.
Indeed a great vlog from you once again that got back all those wonderful memories that we have had in connection with this location.

Oh boy! Do I have memories of this place, 23 years in J. 3rd Block! Just before I left the country, the big 'complex' on the 4th block had been built and my dad and his friends would congregate there every evening and hold court. I think my dad's house was built in the late 50s on a 40x60 plot and it (3rd Block) was allotted to HAL and AG's Office employees. You said Nanda talkies Road, haha ... when my brother got his scooter, he would take me on that road and count 70 KPH, 80 KPH on his speedometer revving it up. I was there visiting last month and much has changed around 3rd and 4th blocks and 11th main is unrecognizable, all houses (except one) replaced by shops and such. When my dad's house was torn down, it was like losing a part of us (but I think it was inevitable that would happen, life goes on).
Thank you for putting this video together.

Bengaluru looks neat only in your vlog videos...in reality if u take a walk in street it's really dirty and dusty. Literally 92% of Bengaluru City.. maybe bcoz of ur high quality camera it looks fine... apart from UB city and sadashivanagar residential area...rest whole Bengaluru is either slum or semi slum

I'm from the town & from Jayanagar, you're welcome to show me in person this dirtiness you're mentioning. Coffee is on me. This free for all has become the new culture of our country. I met a UP boy from a village there a half an hour ago, who said he preferred Bangalore over the other cities merely because he couldn't stand the garbage there. This boy was working in an apartment in Basavanagudi having come down just 25 days ago. Being part of the town since a 100 years now with the family, I request you to relocate at the earliest if it's uncomfortable to you and you want to carry on with such ideas, we wouldn't welcome such ungrateful ideas in this town.

@@aishbhatt arey Bhai....just by showing 2 or 3 somewhat clean areas doesn't mean all other areas of Bengaluru are also same....rents have become so so high....it's literally impossible to live a peacefull life for person below 1 to 1.5 lakh earning...30 to 50% are going for rents...again house owners deduct lot of money from deposit..garbage are thrown anywhere. Not cleaned. ..what good Bengaluru are u talking about????....do u sponsor free meals or so for general public...what do u want prove by speaking only abt fake pride.

Sorry, have to disagree with you completely. Always give right of way to pedestrians, unless my pace and the traffic situation around doesn’t allow me to slow down safely.

@@KripalAmannaVlogs Thanks for the reply. Don't you think you have to anticipate the traffic when you see the zebra crossing in first place (th-cam.com/video/gDto2xOEc6s/w-d-xo.html) ? your speed on the road is not appropriate where you can't control your vehicle speed, isn't it? that means you are in speed! when there is a mistake point out and if you found that is a mistake (it is clearly, watch the clip again, you can see people are crossing from quiet distance) ! accepting thta is not wrong thing at all instead disagree! Mistake is a mistake! we watch your video for entertainment and also we guide when you are wrong! Next time you can edit and remove the clip, so we don't point out. We can get better by guiding each other isn't it?by the way I am no means a Traffic Inspector 😂, you can like my comment ! I am your subscriber!
