It does the job but there is no way to install the controller outside the pc case. Unless the wires have connector and then you can guide the wires through some holes in the back of the case.
Just got one of these under the DS brand, in a tiny box with a "DS Tested" seal on it, for what that's worth. Mine came with a remote. I wonder if yours has the receiver for the remote anyway... I also bought a cheap Coolmoon controller but it is different. It is a proper hub and I think it does both PWM and ARGB. Haven't opened it yet. This is for a PC I am building to sell and, assuming the first one works, I will probably send the other one back since it was around $20 compared to $12 for the other. I don't really need a full hub because I have daisy-chaining fans and you can run 3 or 4 fans off one header. So if you have two headers, most people will be fine. Those hubs are really for the people who put 27 fans in a case and have zero net air exchange. Presumably I am only seeing the individual ring LEDs because of HDR and you don't see them when you are looking at it. I would say this is still a compromise product and an ARGB control app on a modern MB will give smoother color transition. I hope whoever buys my build isn't too annoyed by the fact they'll have to use a remote to set the case fans and an app to set the GPU lighting...But what can you do, it is a 1080FTW with a 4th gen i7. I tried to find a software compatible controller that plugs into PCIe 1x or a USB 2.0 header and they just don't exist and probably never will unless you make it yourself.
I've got an hub where I plub all my fans into. I got this Controller connected to the hub. Most of my fans are 12v and it seems to work with the hub. th-cam.com/video/5LxNg_FO9Z4/w-d-xo.html
This is a controller for ARGB lights. The SATA give it power where the ARGB header plugs into the controller. The fan Header plugs into the motherboard unless you have a fan hub.
the fan works, I only have argb connected, I don't have it because I have 4 pin rgb on the board, so the argb will light up when I plug in the sata hub?
If you have 4 pin RGB on your motherboard then this controller will not work. This is only for 3 pin ARGB only. I do have an ARBG hub. th-cam.com/video/5LxNg_FO9Z4/w-d-xo.html
I have a HUB but I don't think it will power a CPU cooler fan. It probably work if you just use the ARGB. I would plug the CPU cooler fan into the motherboard.
@@John_B_Gage I bought the same model after watching your video ... In mine I can turn off the light by holding S button for 3 seconds... And we can dim the colour by holding c button for 3 seconds 😉

help me solve a very quick question, you can connect a 12v argb fan to that controller or only supports 5v argb? it would be very helpful, thank you.

You only need this if your motherboard does not support ARGB.

can you shut the lights off? will it stay off after a shutdown and power on? i really dont want to manually off it everytime when i turn on my pc
