NOT USING LOOPS IS LIKE NOT USING THE BACKBOARD WHEN PLAYING BASKETBALL.... YOU WILL LOSE. MUSIC OF ANY KIND IS JUST LOOPS AND PATTERNS OF NOTES THAT MAKE MELODIES
A) if you use loops from a service like Splice, you are fully entitled to release the song as your own. If you get a copyright strike because of it, Splice now allows you to download a PDF with a license for the samples you used so you can counter the copyright strike and still monetize your music. B) I hate how using loops has become so stigmatized. Some of the biggest Hip Hop classics used blatant loops, and no one cares. If it sounds dope it sounds dope, that’s all that should matter. NOW, I’m not saying that slapping 3 loops together and calling it a day is the right way to make beats, but using a basic loop as a song starter and adding your own instrumentation and samples to it should be fine. The only ones that will/might know it are your fellow producers anyway, and they probably make up 0.01% of your audience 🤷♂️
Hey! There is nothing wrong with using loops until you want to make money, get a placement, and work with companies and artist who don’t allow loops in their composition. This video is to help producers get over the habit of using loops. A lot of producers get stuck at looping the same pattern without knowing what’s next, I provide the gems. No need to HATE anything fam. Have a nice day!
@@fkanous6077 I’m 100% with you there. But it can also be a great tool to put in as a base layer and then start building around that with own additions. I’ve done this myself and use this method to become less and less dependent on samples throughout the years.
I used to feel like I was missing something if I didn’t use loops ( I’m also not that good at putting a track together) because my background is more in live music performance with bands, so my brain tends to overthink the whole writing process. However, I found using samplers has really helped my creativity and expand my songwriting skills a lot and the music comes out different than I would have if I just looked at music the same way when I’m behind a piano or keyboard. This tutorial has given me some ideas how to use some of the one shots I have collected. Thanks so much.
My process is long....but I still create the majority of my loops and sounds from scratch. I have no issue with using loops, but I did have an artist who didn't want any of the tracks that I sent him to be "loops". Just to avoid the whole monetizing process. Good stuff you're posting here. Keep pushing!!
*YO sis, I am so excited, I have finally joined the MASCHINE MK3 FAM....! I love my Battery 2 and 3 with Cubase but this thing here is a whole another flow! LOVE IT!*
Viewing you do what you do is soooo enjoyable…it feels like you luv music and enjoy creating…after doing this so long I pray for renewed inspiration…and you make me excited again…Keep doing it baby girl
I never was into looping. I’m into one shots, VSTs, and such. I prefer to come up with my own melodies and rhythms and such. Less chance of having to deal with sounding like the 1000 folks using the same premade loops and less chance of dealing with copyright issues. Besides, coming up with something strictly off top is fun to me. I love the challenge of it.
@@Sarah2ill word. Cats have been caught despite those simple changes. Dude would have to do way more than a key and pitch change to throw the labels off his trail.
