    Great idea! I, too, have trouble stomping on the pedal at the exact moment when I want to transition to the next part of the song. The only weakness I see is that when you're improvising, you're restricted to a set number of measures. (Imagine a band like the Grateful Dead trying to do this).

      @@benliu4211 Some songs I’ll make two versions, one for my solo and one for my duo with my lead guitarist where I have sections in the beat.

    Just wanted to drop a line and say how much I appreciated this video and how useful it has been. Since first watching, I have "created" numerous one press Beat Buddy songs. A continuous learning curve and every file I create is a new lesson. Between the minimal beat buddy software and the awesome MuseScore software (still can't believe this is free), I have freed my hands to concentrate more on the music. One thing to add, I started placing sme extra bars at the end as you mentioned but I also and a quiet closed high hat to remind me to stop the song so it does not loop around to the beginning. Thanks again!

      That’s awesome! That’s exactly why I created the video! This has made a HUGE difference in my live performances and unfortunately people don’t know what they don’t know. If this vid opened up a whole new world then that exactly what I was hoping for! One thing I learned since I created this video is I was creating my beats at about 1/2 volume. Ex. I’d put my kick drum individual drum strikes at 50 instead of 100. That was a mistake! I should have did them as loud as possible because when playing through other people’s PA I can’t get enough volume out of the beats.

      Yes sir, the volume between instruments per song is definitley a learning curve. Thanks again!@@musicbydanlee

    This is great thank you. I don't know why BeatBuddy dosn't have the option to play all the parts in order automatically if that's what you want it to do

    Thank you for this extremely helpful video. I just ordered the beat buddy and I'm not terribly coordinated. so this will be a huge help!!! I'm sure I'll be watching this video several times over!!

    A very helpful tutorial Dan. I'm also one of the guys who will mess up tapping pedals all through the song. I like the simplicity of MuseScore but would like it to look like other programs where the musical stave is replaced by a piano or instrument (drums) names in the tracks. Thanks again

    Thank you very much!! This is exactly what I needed as well. I already have pedals to stomp on for effects, and guitar loops and expression pedals etc, the last thing I needed was to have to dance around on the drum pedal as well. I wish you could do this all in the pedal (like put it in record mode then run through the patters as you’d like then when you hit stop it could save the recording as a one press) crazy that you can’t do that and it seems impossible even in the apps for the pedal. I was just about to give up when I found your video.. I think I can manage it with your method. Thank you!! I wonder if I can use the pause button with your method?

    OMG! Thank you sooo much. I just got my Beat Buddy a couple of weeks ago and have been watching all kinds of videos. Trying to find how to edit the BBM files and create my own songs. You are the answer to my prayers.👍 Pretty obvious its going to be pain staking but many songs I do are not available or at least I haven't found them. Thanks again for the great video. PS I couldn't help but notice on your screen a list of songs that I play. Do you ever share those with others?
    Dr My Eyes, Wonderful Tonight, Peaceful Easy Feeling for example. 🙏🙃😉

    This was a great video. I have the midi cable and plan on taking your approach and exporting the MIDI file into Cubase on my ipad , record a bass line, etc and then just let cubase drive the beat buddy as a drive module. I will then do the live performances using a sequencer approach with my ipad and cubase

    This is great - have you also worked on this to add additional instruments - I am not sure if you wish to but just a thought would this work?

    • @musicbydanlee
      @musicbydanlee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure how I would add a base line because I don't own or know how to play a base. All the Beat Buddy .sng files I've pulled with a base sound so synthetic that it wouldn't live up to the quality of performance that I'd be ok with.

    • @Ian-kn7tj
      @Ian-kn7tj ปีที่แล้ว

      @@musicbydanlee fair enough - I thought that perhaps and expansion of your video showing how to manipulate the additional instruments sounds would be useful for all who are working with the Beatbuddy but - I understand where you are coming from. Thanks for the response.

    Can you just put the final midi file into the "Outro Fill" section so that you can double tap the pedal to start the song, and when it finishes it doesn't start over because it thinks it's an outro?

    • @musicbydanlee
      @musicbydanlee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it will allow you to even save it in BB without a main section. What I do to get around that is I edit the main track and choose NOT to quantitize it or it will mess it up. Then I'll just add like 5 blank measures to the end and save it. That way it will give you a lot of time to double-tap at the end of the song with all that blank space.

    Thanks for this, Dan. Very helpful. I'm getting a "bad file ,cannot import " on my Intros and Trans etc, but main loops import in as you showed. Any thoughts? Thanks again

    Can’t you just download the Mary Jane midi file from the internet and import it into the BB?

      I do not know anything about BBFF. I just looked it up and apparently you have to pay for it
