Polish person here -> I've never encountered bears during hiking on the Polish side of Tatras. I wouldn't worry about them at all. It is more likely to meet roes or deers at the outskirt of Zakopane than bears :)
@@danielstoner3000because he is Polish and polish people have a tendency to complain as long as they complain for their own country it’s all ok . If you however will complain about zakopane they will suddenly change their mind and start tell you how amazing is . Just polish nature

There's a lot more bears on the Slovakia side, my father encountered one big one but it got scared and run away

I did a day trip to zackopane in February of this year. I did the thermal baths and went up the tatra mountains. I'd love to go again.
