  • I can concentrate less on my walking with these devices. That reduces my cognitive load which is a great thing.

The ExoBand (and soon the ExoAnkle) are the products of a small Italian firm called MoveoWalks. A friend of mine with MS put me onto this as she swears by it.
[All the links are at the bottom of this description]
I met the founder at #ECTRIMS2023 in Milan and we got chatting and have become friends.
After I had a relapse in early 2024 my right leg has been permanently affected. Fausto posted me an ExoBand and ExoAnkle to try out and give my thoughts on. It helps me a lot so I thought I'd make a video to share with you guys.
In the UK there is a new distributor who is called Brace Orthopaedic. Brace are experts in the field and are working very hard to ensure that this is known about and can be used by the NHS. The short version is that it is through the orthotics department at your hospital that this is acquired. They have a discretionary budget so it is about them knowing about the device and using it. As medical devices go it is very good value.
Note:- GPs can make direct referrals to the orthotics team now so no need to go to the neuro, the nurse and then the physio first.
Elsewhere in the world it is best to get in touch with MoveoWalks and ask them what the arrangements are for your country.

A friend walked around Venice on holiday with it. She says that if she didn’t have it on she would have been far too tired too soon.

@@theMSguide I love the simplicity of the design. I have tried two different aids to help my walk. A FES (Functional Electrical Stimulation) walking aid, and a more mechanical device. Both have their positives and negatives. This seems to be the best of both.
Walking is a vital ability, and the longer we can stay on our feet the better for us physically and mentally.
Thank you for showing us this new walking aid.
