  • Skoda put a 2.0 TSI with 230bhp under the hood of this RS edition of their trusty Octavia. The result is a fantastic mix of fun and performance that still offers all the practicality and reliability the car is best known for.

I have also tested the rs230. Very good car. Only minus some cheap details. The boot floor is a thin wood plate. Too little noise insulation in the rear. Best part is how it drives. Fast and with good grip. The bang from the exhaust gave me a laugh everytime. I drive the DSG. Highly recomended.
I would give the RS230 5/6. Its a bit pricey in Norway due to taxes

I’ve got one. It’s a great car but axle tramp in particular in the wet is dreadful and the plastics are a bit hard. It also makes a racket if you’re on a concrete motorway, I swear Skoda use less noise insulation than VW. Still love it though. The engine and DSG coupling work really well. Spec the adjustable damping though, without it the ride is pretty brittle.

I can tell you for a fact you will not get 46mpg out of the petrol vrs. I have had petrol and diesel octavia vrs`s and the diesel only gets 54 and my petrol did about 38 on a long run. I know a few poeple who have them and get around the same so its not just mine. That said its a great car once its been mapped to 250bhp plus.

Can you please give consumption in litres per 100 km instead of mpg?
