This was five years ago. Back then only few in the West knew what he was talking about. I am glad today the few have become many. He lost a lot, but he gained a lot too.
It is disheartening to witness America, a nation that prides itself on freedom, seemingly disregarding the principles of the First Amendment. It is truly unbelievable to witness such a departure from the values that define this country.

He made a complete fool of himself by denying that he is calling for the eradication of Israel at the same time he calls a free Pakestine from the River to the sea which would replace Israel would have been laughable if the subject matter were not so serious.,

Look up Deir Yassin ! the massacre of over 150 villagers by Jewish terror gangs. A British report to the U.N. stated that "the Palestinians were murdered in circumstances of great savagery"
Ie. the Jews took them outside, forced all of women and children to strip, photographed them, them proceed to machine gun all of them to death. Incidentally this was only one of dozens the British discovered in the region.

To commend is to acknowledge and recognize someone for their virtue, excellence or good work; to command is to direct authoritatively, to give orders. Perhaps English is not your mother tongue.
I think many people will regard his stance at this time as provocative and insensitive in view of war crimes and brutal atrocities committed recently against Jewish civilians, that simply cannot be justified by reference to any historical or contemporary context, using language that identifies conspicuously with they that committed those crimes.
Much as I detest CNN, they have the right to terminate their employees contracts for such reasons as they deem fit. He took his position and now he must accept the consequences, as we all must do. I condemn the murder, rape and brutalization of men, women and children civilians, whether they are Jewish, Muslim, Christian or any other religion, or if they are non-believers.
I had this conversation with my son. No one can say anything against what Israel believes without loosing their job. There will never be peace in for Palestine. I've seen him interpellate both Hamas and Israeli representations and asked them sharp questions and following up when the guest is evasive with the first question. He's relentless and that's the way to get his guest to state their real positions. A great journalist.
