Thats the one with the stk sound module i wonder does this one have it also i know that the Sanyo DXC 2000 has the same module also a verry good receiver
Nice reciever ! Thanks for overview . I just finished servicing the Sansui G-8000 i bought 2 months ago it was a PITA! But it paid off everything in perfect order ! I will have review soon amps sounds so musical and warm !
I just bought one of these for $50 Canadian. One channel was out-fuse blown. After some cleaning of the pots and the main driver board connector it’s sings like new. Very different sound than my AU-5500 more tube like I think. Both wonderful. Love your videos well done.
When we love our gear so much it’s not easy to let go,I wanna sell some of my stereos but it’s not easy to just let it go because I’ll never see them again and it’s hard to find good vintage stereos 😂
It’s ironic you’re just putting this vid up. I just purchased this receiver a month ago and although I know it works. I haven’t listened to it. This past Friday I grabbed a 771 someone was selling in my area as well. Although the tuner doesn’t work on that one, I can’t wait to listen to them both on an array of east coast speakers I’ve acquired over the years. I’m thinking 1st up will be a pair of keg 103.2’s though. Although the kef’’s love power, I’m thinking the loudness button may be enough for them. We shall see, great score, will probably be even better after a recap. It will be interesting to see if they prefer the warm vintage or more modern speakers. Allison 1 and 2’s will also be in the line up. Last on the list is their big brother
Any one here knows where to get a 'balance (4-pin) ' potetiometer for this rig? Bought mine in 1975 in the UK; only wish it could have been well kept as this one!!
Onthoud altijd: Rood=Right! Je had de rode, rechts dus, in de left van de input zitten, en de witte in de right. Je stereo effecten zijn dus precies omgedraaid haha! Verder weer een super video!
Wow! A European audio video with decent music. Whole songs are better than excerpts, but it sure beats the reverb soaked slimy singers found on most of the like videos.
Please, can you recommend me amplifiers which are amazingly match with Magnat MSP 70. I have this speakers and love them but still searching the really amp for them. Something strong with minimum 100 wats. Something from your experience.
vintage stereo l live in Alberta Canada, l have a technician who does work on vintage equipment, very highly rated. As for that gentleman who said sansui has lots of cheap plastic parts, he has not seen the vintage high end units, superb hi fi gear.

Don't know why you don't get yourself a decent portable DAC probably the best one is ifi hip not too expensive about €130. Try and get yourself a Meridian amplifier something like 551 they were expensive in the day you can pick them up cheap now
John has a point ! I reviewed the iFi nano black label you can use as a phone dac its 199 bucks and sounds great and has balanced outputs threw the same cable your using now with your phone , If you use an android phone i show the proper digital cable you need also called the on the go cable OTG 199.00US plus a 15.00 on the cable the sound difference will impress you hugely over that phone dac , on my community page theirs a pic i uploaded of the ifi nano black label and you can have the black label charged up so you wont have to add power cable to the mix which is less noise
Hello I like a lot Your reviews. I have a question and need some suggestion. I want to buy a JBL 1000 Century or Yamaha ns1000 , and i need a good reciver, Can You tell me witch one could be good . ? Budget are 1-1,5 k $ Cheers
This HK is still cheap. Sound is fantastic but a bit to bass heavy to my taste on my canton rc-l's. If you combine this receiver to speakers which doesn't reach 30Hz it probably sound more balanced. The Luxman r-1050 receiver is still cheap in the Netherlands and a beautiful sound. Some Luxman amps like the SQ-700X sound beautiful. I am not found of the sound of the smaller sansui amplifiers but the AU-X301 is cheap and have a good sound. I do not like the layout of the yamaha cr receivers but they sound beautiful and are not expensive. The little pioneer sx 300 is nice and cheap. The yamaha r-900 ore r-1000 sounds very good but the layout is not nice.
Hi Andrew, after watching your reviews and vs videos I've decided to buy a Sansui receiver. I wonder which one is better, the 881 or G-4700. What do you think? In my area they are very expensive, at least 400-500 Euro. So I couldn't buy G-5000 or something like that. They are more than 1000 Euro. So 881 or G-4700, which one should I prefer?
Dallas Baseball I really thank you for your reply. I've found a small harman kardon receiver (hk 330c) and bought it. The price of it was much convenient. But i will buy a 881 if i can find a clean one. Thanks again.

Hello Andrew,so glad you found your way back to Vintage Equipment.

Don’t forget to test it with some of highly reviewed vintage and modern CD players, I have a feeling you’ll be surprised what synergy brings.
