- There is gold in all the Great Lakes of Michigan. I got 140 colors to a 4 gallon sample of Lake Huron beach sand.
I still have one more bucket to process. I am working on reviving my MEGA sluice to run the last batch of this sand. Stay tuned...

Do you have to have permits to take sands and rocks from the lakes there?
Have a look at Michigan Prospectors group on FB. I have all the details and regulations posted on there. No permits needed for a recirculating sluice, self contained and with a battery on state owned beaches or for gold panning by hand. On private lands it all depends on the owner of course. Some towns have limits. Some do not.
Great job all around. Keep on having fun getting that au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out!!!
Thanks! Will do!
Nice! That’s awesome!
Thanks!
Yup.....your going to have that new truck in no time 👍
haha
That's going to be a good spot. Almost as good as the UP
I am hoping so. I figure Lake Michigan should have good gold too. Cant wait for the snow and ice to melt enough to get prospecting more.
@Michigan Prospectors there's a guy silver sleuth on TH-cam that has found gold on lake Michigan. But didn't look as good as your Huron gold
I have watched his videos. I may have found a good spot. Time will tell. I believe there is good gold in Lake Michigan as well. I think you have to look for it tho. I will find out this summer.
That's awesome Troy!!!!!! Like you said its not making you rich, but hey, with the way things are these days every little bit counts even more. What's the chance that you've actually found a vein where your collecting the sand? I'd suggest not telling anymore about which lake your finding it at and maybe look at buying a prospecting claim for that area if you keep finding more flowers. Good Luck!
Hope the girls are doing great. Say Hi to both of them for me please. I may be coming down your way during the summer. If I do it would be great to meet up. I'll email you when I know if I will be headed your way.
Cheers!,

The problem with beach mining is that the beach changes every week. Any storm, strong wind or waves tear it up and move the gold somewhere else. No risk of someone else finding it. Plus Lake Huron shoreline is huge and I dont tell what beaches I get this from. Note "beaches". Its pretty much everywhere in Michigan.
Let me know if you ever get down this way.
Thanks.
@@michiganprospectors for sure i will let you know. I e tried calling you a few times on the # you gave me a couple years ago.
Probably dont have that number anymore
I'll email you so I can get your new # if thats ok?
