The way they edited Ted’s and Rebecca’s stories together was just brilliantly done. They both truly lost their childhood faith in their fathers at that moment of discovery.
cindy clawford is his cat.
AND one of my favorite exchanges in a tv show ever is the "Avenge me Keely! Avenge Me!" scene.
Cindy Clawford was introduced in Season 1 -- it's the name of Higgins's now-deceased cat.
Threw her collar in to the fire in the team building/ghosts episode :(
He really should've gotten another cat called Christy Purrlington. 😸
If you remember back, Ted once says something along the lines of “it shouldn’t ever take longer to get dressed then the song ‘easy lover’ by Phil Collins. This series is just FULL of callbacks to earlier episodes. Another thing that makes it great.
"I think a fella should only takes as long as the tune Easy Lover by Phil Collins and Philip Bailey to get dressed in the morning."
Is the exact quote.
Ted Lasso just rick rolled you.
YES! A Sassy episode!!!!! The one person who treats Rupsy-Dups the way he should.
I love Sassy so much
Or, one can be classy and not lower themselves, like the mum.
Be the better person.
This episode won emmys for Jason. You will find out why Beard is loyal to Ted.
Rebecca's mom is played by Harriet Walter, who has done a TON of stuff over her career (Shakespeare stuff both on stage and screen, Downton Abbey, Sense and Sensibility, etc), but these days is probably most recognized (at least here in the US) for this and also Succession, where she also plays the mom. She had one hell of a May 2023, since that's when both Lasso and Succession aired their series finales in the same week. She got nominated for guest actress Emmys for both of those shows, too.
Harriet Walter plays the mum . She’s been in every thing ! I love her! I first saw her in the lord Peter whimsy series playing Harriet vane in the 80s .But she has been in everything from sense and sensibility to Star Wars from law and order to downton Abby. She’s so solid. She always sticks her role. She’s a star!
Her role in Sense and Sensibility is legendary
A note on Bex, she is played by Keeley Hazell, an ex girlfriend of Jason Sudeikis and was an inspiration for the character Keeley.
Ted and Rebecca's back-and-forth storytelling in this episode is one of my favorite moments in television - ever.
This is on my top 3 episode list. So good.
Just loved how you got rick rolled and didn't realize it :)
I didn't notice this until you literally said "Sam and Rebecca".. but that's a very classic couple from Cheers... and many people thought it was inferior to Sam & Diane.
Rick-rolling a funeral is a boss move.
I don't care for the song. I never did. I found it contrived and schlocky.
But in the 80s, when I was a teenager, all the girls I used to chase about (with near total futility) *LOVED* it and belted it out loud and proud at every opportunity. Ergo, I knew all the words and even sang along if there was even the faintest chance I had a shot with any of them.
Rick Astley has embraced his status as a one hit wonder, which is a refreshingly gracious and humble thing.
For that grace and humility, as well as the fond memories of youth, I'm quite nostalgic about a song which is objectively crap.
Thanks, Rick - wherever you are.
Can’t remember how many of these episodes brought on tears, but this one did for sure. Love your reactions as usual. ❤️
One of my favorite episodes of all three seasons.
Not saying too much but there will be an episode at some point that will give more backstory on Beard history with Ted Lasso. Not saying when and what
Yep, their backstory is fantastic.
It’s SOOO hot here on the west coast of North America that I forgot it was Monday. So seeing this in my suggestions was Awesome ! ! !
104 here in Eugene today. Thank god for AC!
@@fuelman1391 uggh. Stay cool.
In some of the discussion between you lads about the episode, you both say some straight-up psychologist stuff.
Good on you, you really enhance the storylines! Cheers!
I’m glad you liked the previous episode. Beard is an enigma. I know it was a stand alone episode but when you finally get to the episode that would show his backstory, it would then make sense.
Ok this episode. Damn it I cried again. They’re so good at giving me belly laughs and then gut wrenching sadness straight away. 😢
Side note. Rick Astley was so amazed by Hannah’s rendition of his song. He posted it on his socials congratulating them for such a great job.
Dani mutters in Spanish, that women is an angel.
One of the best episodes
I'm not sure how you guys don't know what a "Rick Roll" is and that the song is Never Going to Give You Up. It's one of the largest memes in the history of the internet.
This reaction was way too short! Please do more! Love your reactions.
this is one of my favorite episodes of the whole series.
Please to Matt Stafford mic’s up game winning heroics.. one of the most inspirational in game videos you’ll ever see
This episodes has moments that makes me laugh out loud, but it's also an episode that absolutely fucking breaks me. So incredible sad.
I had to take a break from watching after this episode. So good!
I wonder if you guys are aware that "Roy" is one of the writers for the show. Love your reviews.
4:53 Phil Collins is a Musical God. And don't forget that it was a duet with Philip Bailey...great old Pop Tune.
First one
Didn't really like the last 2 episodes. I feel like they strayed too far off the path of what the show is supposed to be.
@@Sandman60077 Ted and Rebecca wouldn't be who they are without their formative experiences and exploring that gives the show one of its added dimensions
@@wozzablog It's a base comedy, it doesn't need added dimensions.
I agree. I actually started watching this show last year and stopped after this episode. I felt like it was trying to hard to be something else. If you're a comedy then be a comedy, if you're a drama then be a drama, but don't try and jump back and forth.
@@manicmisfit1206 it was never a completely straight comedy. At the end of the first episode where Ted calls his wife and you know they've breaking up with a kid involved, it's a gut punch.
It’s okay, not everyone understands Ted Lasso.
