I'm sure this has been mentioned 7.3 million times, BUT...I love how this song has its genesis in the band essentially parodying a prototypical American 'grunge rock anthem' while dicking around in rehearsal, and then the result went on to not only become a hit--but far and away, by a HUGE margin...their biggest hit in the US, lol. You couldn't have written it better

Wow, that means he finally accomplished his goal! ...Well, so to speak. I remember when "Clint Eastwood" came out, and the video was constantly on Fuse/MTV2, which I watched a lot, and we all got sucked in to what was actually pretty adventurous, interesting music, because of the animation (I was only like 14). But...even being young, and only moderately aware of Blur at that point (I got really into them later), I couldn't see 2-D without picturing Albarn recording the vocal parts. So, things have finally come full circle.

I do too, but it would definitely take away some of the punch. Part of the reason it's so sneakily effective is that, just as you are starting to get a handle on it and groovin' out, it just...suddenly...stops. And not with a bridge, or middle 8, or outro, it just...stops (Ooooooh, yeaaahhhhh....*bump*)
