The pilot was identified as Capt. Stephen P. Bowden, of the 355th Tactical Fighter Wing at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, S.C. Excellent job on the model & the paint job. Still have the AMT/ERTL A-10 Thundrerbolt II 'Action Series' kit waiting in the stash.

Hi jhuntosgarage, the A-10s are certainly a staple of almost daily sightings in southern Arizona. I remember as an avionics tech that it was hard on the knees working in the gear bays usually troubleshooting WOW switches or fuel indicator issues for my F-16s. I can't imaging bringing in a power wash spray gun or hand washing gear on any military aircraft, a lot of work 😮. Thanks for your service and for watching! 😎

I've lived in Tucson almost 50 years, seen a lot of awesome planes flying out of DM and the air national guard base- but I really like the A-10 the best- the most beautiful ugly plane ever- great build!
Thank you for sharing a beautiful build. I'm particularly glad that you kept your weathering to look more realistic. IMO, a lot of the aircraft builds on TH-cam have modelers over-exaggerating their panel lines, and "over-weathering" their projects. So the finished products, while displaying fabulous technique, look like parodies of the real thing.
I too have just recently bought this kit. I haven't started it yet. I can confirm with Max that the kit is high quality but its detail is so-so. There are Chinese models (Hobby Boss) that said to be the gold standard. Again excellent work and it's more about the craftsmanship and painting that is emphasized than the model itself.
Great result, I’ve just really started model making in my 50’s. I’m struggling to start the cam paint job. I haven’t access to scanner but a printer I do. How do I go about scaling from the online document to print at the right scale. Any ideas, thanks.
Hi TheProccy68, have you seen my video on creating templates? If you don't have a scanner but access to a photocopy machine at work or at a local printshop, you can come up with the needed masks. I actually cover the A-10 as one of the examples: th-cam.com/video/iE7MtwrjaOg/w-d-xo.html Let me know if you need additional pointers if the video doesn't help. 👍
I was 16 (1984/85) on a school geography trip to Flamborough Head in Yorkshire. Crossing the Yorkshire Wolds on a long straight road there came flying down the road towards us were two Hogs. One either side of the road flying low. It was an experience. The rest of the class didn't have a clue what they were seeing sadly.
I like the fact that you paint your models in the 80s camo pattern rather than using the modern painting scheme where every plane is just gray. Unfortunately many kits just provide the decals for the modern paint schemes. Up unti now I haven't found decals for an F-15 with the small colored cockades to build an F-15 from the 80s era.
Damn fine build. I built this exact same kit just a few months ago and had a hard time with its poor fitting. However, you made it look flawless anyway and it just shows how much I still have to learn.
I enjoyed this video so much I went out and bought the very same kit. This will be my first scale-model, I'm going to try to follow your technique to get good results.

I've lived in Tucson almost 50 years, seen a lot of awesome planes flying out of DM and the air national guard base- but I really like the A-10 the best- the most beautiful ugly plane ever- great build!
Thanks james! I served at the 162nd FW which still flies the F-16s as you know.
Nice job
Thanks Aidan!
Thank you very much!
Great job on a very old kit!
Thanks stuco81, scribing over old style raised panel lines is not so fun! :-P
Ive still not got to grips with scribing, full stop. 😄
Another great build!!! Love your channel!!!
Thanks so much, mr.modern44! 😊
The A-10 is one of a kind.
See su25 frogfoot.

I love the A-10 it's a awesome Air plane it saved a lot of life's I hope it stays in service . awesome video
Thanks Daniel, I also hope it stays for a long time too!
Thanks EDX2308, I'll have to check out the Hobby Boss version. I truly liked their Su-27 Flanker B kit.
Hobbyboss is the best. Followed by the old Revell-Monogram with the raised panel lines. Italeri comes a close third. IMO.
Man you are good..... Nice build....
Thanks again, TowMaters!
Love these planes and kits not sure why they haven’t detailed the power plants for display. Nice build.
Thanks!
I enjoyed this vid being an A-10C Maintainer i loved it btw nice audio of the APU Revving up 🤙🛩🇺🇸
Love crewing these babies
Nice, thanks for your service Liberty Prime!
@@MaxAfterburner Thank you for yours
I've been binge watching lots of your build videos last few days ...great work! Keep 'em coming!
Hi Daniel, thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying the "series"! 😉
I actually cover the A-10 as one of the examples: th-cam.com/video/iE7MtwrjaOg/w-d-xo.html
Let me know if you need additional pointers if the video doesn't help. 👍
@@MaxAfterburner Nice one, I should be able to get access to a scanner/copier at work and that link to the other video helped a lot too. Many thanks
Thanks Lee!
whanks so much this is going to help so much
Hi Chaos_Apex , that's great to hear! Have fun with your A-10 build 😊
Nice intro! Great detailing...as always. I stop and stare whenever the A-10s fly by here in Tucson!
More content, more content! ;-)
I enjoyed this video so much I went out and bought the very same kit. This will be my first scale-model, I'm going to try to follow your technique to get good results.
Hi Conor, I hope it goes well and that you enjoy it. It's not the best of kits, so if it's a struggle, don't be discouraged!
Great videos I was wondering how would you calculate 1/72 scale for templates? Thank you very much.
Hi nws9140, you can watch my video on how to do this which will work for any scale. th-cam.com/video/iE7MtwrjaOg/w-d-xo.html
Great build and nice work on the homemade decals!
Thanks Calvin 🙂
Love your work, very professional build. And your video presentation is easy to watch. I learned a lot from your videos. A good content for military modelling, makes me want to start one! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Lain x2! Have fun and try one out! :-)
I loaded weapons for 355 Training Squadron A-10 @ DM from 1987-1992. Those wear the best years of my life.
Thanks for your honorable service Alexander! A former F-16 avionics colleague of mine now works on the A-10's at DM with AFRES.
Another great video. I look forward to the amazing job and tutorial on the f-14d. Always really enjoy your builds.
Thanks Edward! I do believe the F-14D will be quite the challenge, but also rewarding if all goes well!
Magnificent work! Very inspiring.
Thanks very much Bengal Ghost!
Thanks for doing this video - Really helped me with the build I have on now.
Thanks Andrew, I'm glad it's useful for you 🙂
