Aww... window view! So many times! Your place is absolutelly awesome! :) Great build, as always. For 6 days work, final result is amazing! Thanks for the video! Oh, when it comes to problem-free models, Arma Hobby is alsa quite good. However, I'm Polish, they are Polish, so yeah... you don't have to trust me on this one ;)
Ugur, wonderful build as always. To be honest I had ZERO interest in this aircraft type. However, after seeing this build I want to go out and buy this model and build it. Beautiful build sir!!
Very nice job on the Skyray - Yes I Agree Tamiya are the least problematic when it comes to fit. What region of the globe are we viewing between assembly ?
Live this build few questions what was the prepared wash you used? How do you thin your vellejo air paint’s because I always get dry tip and what do you use to hold your gear doors on?
Thanks for watching it. - Wash: Vallejo Dark gray, at least 1/10 wash/water ration. It needs 2-3 layer application. - How i use Vallojo acrylics. I use 0.5 tip airbrush first, I dilute it as at least 50/50 or 40/60 with water, too thin to prevent blokage. - Gear doors? I always use CA glue (Super Glue), short drying time and very strong attachment. Cheers 👍🏻
@@ugurkenelthanks for the info i will try that stuff out. You never showed you removing the wash so you remove it or just brush and dab it on and that’s the finished result. And the gear doors I was referring to what’s temporary holding on the gear doors when you paint the fuselage
Since the wash is so thin, there is usually not much wash left to remove or clean. If there are little excess wash dried on surface, i just paint over them by brush with same fuselage color to delete it. I fix doors to fuselage with a piece of “Tack-It” ( re-usable adhesieve.)
Thank you!! Yes it is. It is based on a real reference, as you said there were marine versions too. But this is exactly NAVY type. Just “EK” marks on the tail may not be true. I have just used out of box decals. Send me an email that i can send you real photo if you need it.
Yes i know that series of Tamiya, Harrier, F-15, A-10, some kind of Zero fighter... They have also fully raised panel lines. We should stay away from the Tamiya models have raised panel lines. Rest of them are great in my opinion.
Beware of the decals on the Takom Apache! They are awful, they don't conform and have horrible silvering, even with the most powerful solvents. Lovely job on the Skyray. I notice you use a different glue to most modellers out of a tube. Is that a cement or CA glue?
Thanks a lot! I dont know what to do about Takom decals because i dont have extra decals for it. I hope i can find a way to place them properly.✌🏻 Glue: Yes, i mostly use CA glue (Pattex’s standart super glue) becaus it dry very fast and curing as a rock hard.
There is only one 1/48 scale Skyray model at Tamiya. Box number is 61055. But as i write in the video, this painting ( Red-Gray-White ) option is not available in this box.
@@ugurkenel …thanks for the model number. It helps the search. As for the ‘painting’ (paint scheme?) I’ll just choose another if it suits me better. I never stress those points, I model 100% strictly for fun and relaxation .
Yes, I know, as I said in the video, I tried to combine this color with the decals that came out of the box. Probably the EK mark on the tail is not more accurate.
So he made an error. So what? Just look at the end result. It's beautiful. It's so easy to run someone's work down, isn't it? (Does it make you feel special to do so?) 😂
It's just outstanding! As always, I have learnt something from you video, thank you
Thanks a lot! 👍🏻
Great build, I've always liked the look of the skyray, and that paint makes it really stand out!
Many thanks!!
It's much more fun than the standard Navy gray color.

Nice work on the FORD! I like your paint method!

FORD 😂 Cool name 🤟

Very nice. I liked the mechanical pencil panel line and your acrylic wash techniques.
Thanks a lot 🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful work 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks ! 👍🏻👍🏻🤟🏻
Excelent work, the attention to the details in every part is exquisite 👏👏
Thanks a lot! I tried to do my best in short time.🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
5:30 at lest you'll know it looks nice, and that counts for something.
Yes it looks nice indeed, but It just caused me to waste unnecessary time. No problem 😉👍👍

Thanks for your advice, I didnt know that!
Do you know the owners? I would like to try one of them.
1:40 that's a great technique for cutting clear canopy parts.
Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻
Companies sometimes produce canopies in a way that they touch to sprue very thicky. In such cases this method is mandatory in my opinion.
Great model 💪

Yes Tamiya is one of the best, excepts for the first models.
I live in Turkiye, city is Ankara 🍻
uhm...hate to ask, but no gunsight? beautiful model Dane
Many thanks!
I think F4D-1 has only optical sight that reflects onto the windshield. Because such a part is not included in the kit.
Cheers.

I also have the takom apache and it is a pain. I just gave up on it mid build due to it fighting me all the way and the high number of parts.
F4D has eased my mind a bit. I think I can finish it with its motivation.
By the way Takom AH-64 is a really difficult model.
Tats an amazing model kit, but did the actual squadron have the navy marking on it, but a marine squadron marking?
Thank you!!

Dear Sir, you are right about Tamiya, but Tamiya’s 1/48 sea harrier is a very bad Model, too simple and without details. Thanks !! Great Job

@@ugurkenelI just finished my Tamiya sea harrier is a pretty bad kit in terms of fitment too
@@austinlangley4539 I believe. It is one of Tamiya’s first productions.

VMF-115 is a US Marine squadron, not a US Navy squadron. You messed up somewhere along the way.
