- Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Storm Davis had an impossible season in 1989 that no pitcher has, or will achieve ever again. Someone to be as bad as him, to win as often, with as few losses.

Rick Helling in 1998 won 20 games only lost 7 with a 4.41 era with texas. Your video reminded me of this. I'm amazed I was able to remember half of this without looking it up.
This channel continues to be awesome.
I saw this guy pitch at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore when i was around 10 yrs old. He helped us win a world series in 83
David wells won 20 games in 2000 with an era over 4 for Toronto
Fun fact, his adoptive brother is former MLB 1st baseman Glenn Davis. Keep in mind, Davis won this many games as a 5th Starter. Dave Stewart the Ace of the staff considered Storm Davis the best 5th starter that he ever played with.
The weird thing is, Davis in 1989 didn't really have a lot of 'cheap' wins where he pitched poorly. When he got shelled, he basically got the L. In every one of his wins, he gave up 4 ER or less, and his worst pitched Win was where he went 7 IP and gave up 4 ER, which really isn't that terrible. He also had a few W or ND where he went 5 IP and gave up 3 ER, which also isn't that bad. A couple of terrible Losses really made his ERA skyrocket
I can see why the Orioles got rid of him.
I would love to have a 5 Storm Davis starting rotation in Cincinnati instead of the schmucks they have.
