this is honestly so inspirational - my mum keeps asking me to do a half marathon with her but my excuse is always 'i'm not a runner i'm a lifter' & honestly this is so inspirational!! i love this for you lucy!! & i can't wait to start my hybrid journey!!🥰✨🥹🫶🏻
Can we just take a sec to appreciate Lucy and Steph’s relationship? It’s such a genuine one… and as someone who’s been following both since a lot before they met each other, I feel somehow happy and amazed by how much this amazing lifestyle of overcoming challenges can bring ppl together. Love you gals xx
You did really well. This is a classic first marathon race...go out a bit fast, get a sudden shock around 30-35km, but you held it together SO well and only lost a few minutes! Seriously great job!
For my first marathon in April at Paris I run 5’19 even if I aimed for 4 hours flat. I got cramp like I never had before at the halfway point. This experience was the most difficult of my life but also one of the most rewarding. Lucy you’re an absolute animal and I love your content, keep up with this amazing mentality and attitude you’re a beast 👏🏼
yaaay congrats! you got me into running so thank you so much - I'm nice and slow took me 3 and a half hours at 30k (just randomly challenged myself) but so proud and so lovely what mindset running gives you compared to weight training. im now focused on fuelling rather than restricting and your channel really helped with that 💕
Well done on your first marathon. I have run Chester a few times and also ran this year and they were tough conditions this year! I 100% agree marathons are much harder than ultras, especially if racing for a time. I never cramped in marathons until I was aiming for a time and have hit some huge walls! I've sub 3-d a few times but my best time was after a block of training where i did my long runs long and big sets of marathon pace training. The cramp is more likely related to your muscle endurance than your carb or salt intake, especially if you have carb and salt loaded sufficiently. I did London and went off at around 2:50 hr pace which was way quicker than I had ever managed and I seized up at mile 16 and limped home in 2:58 which is a big fall off in pace! I then did Berlin after doing 5 hour trail runs, half marathons at marathon pace, and loads of time on feet, changed nothing else and didn't cramp at all and hit my PB. If you do London (you will get in on GFA which is open now) then do NOT get carried away. The crowds mean you go off like a maniac and it WILL bite you in the ass along with GPS issues around Canary Wharf which totally throw your pacing off and many twists and turns. Also, do some longer training runs in the Alphas. They are not as stable as the tempos and so also your legs need to get used to them. Good luck with your future marathons!
I ran my first half-marathon in September but you’ve inspired me to start lifting too because I know I don’t have to choose one or the other! I can be strong and enjoy running too ❤ congratulations!
Wow you did amazing the next marathon you will just get faster. You and Stephanie are going to be world class athletes. Keep making your dreams come true.
Congrats on the race! Amazing time Lucy! You're super fast for this being your first marathon. You did so well with the training plus the great execution at the race.
Congratulations, way to go and doing hard things! Just started running and became hybrid! Best decision ever. Running my first half marathon at the end of the month. I’m just gonna have fun with it! So happy and grateful I have a healthy able body to do all this things!
For anyone moving from strength training to running. I personally have seen a great improvement in my running when i've added in 10 mins of Tabata to the end of my lifting sessions. I've also done quite a few intervals on the assault bike and i think both really help with breathing and just generally getting aerobic fitness up. Im nowhere near a marathon but i am not a natural runner what so ever and always though lifting was it for me. Im up to 3x 5ks per week and aiming for an 8k soon on the way to a 10k, you absolutely can do it! Well done on your marathon. I might get there one day! 🎉
Sun 3 hour and having a coach would mean probably 6-7 runs per week. That’s what I found for those faster times, a lot more volume! London isn’t that flat either… 😊
Im a partially sighted runner. My daughter and I ran London earlier this year and I agree - it’s NOT flat! My daughter got 3:16 and I (with a guide runner) got 4:44 👏🏽🎉
It's crazy how you felt like this was harder than the ultra! 🤯 I figured you would think it was a breeze, but it makes sense since the pace is so much different. I just love how you and Steph, Grant, and Ben support one another for literally everything - it's so nice to see and you all are so lucky to have one another 🥰❤💕💕💕you always inspire me to do better, love you tons and sending support from Hollywood! xo
You’re such an inspiration 👏 I started the level up hyrox programme this week with mycoach and loving it so far. All the best with Everest and lanzarote! You’ll smash them both I’m sure 💪🙌🏻🔥 xxx
Now you have experienced the first one you mentally know you can do it so you can build on that the only thing is a flat tarmac marathon is just that the ones that are the off road or a hilly race are the real challenges
Incredible Lucy! What an inspiration. I lift and run but feel a bit rubbish at both, but I enjoy it so that’s enough I guess! Maybe I’ll sign up for a half…you and Steph have spurred me on ❤
Fabulous job Lucy!! 🏆😊💪 I agree, ultras are the "easier" option...pace tends to ebb and flow with the terrain during an ultra (on trails anyway). But marathons it's all about a consistent and (hopefully) fast pace. I muuuuch prefer an ultra! 😂
Congrats. I also think marathons are harder than ultras… I am not as fast as you, by any means, but definitely rookie mistake to go out too fast. Sorry you had cramps. Really awesome job, though. You crushed it. I wish I was as fast as you… but I prefer long and slow lol (just did 50mi last weekend and looking to get my 7th 100mi in before the end of this year, I hope). Also, be thankful for that weather! Every day and every race is different. Never know what the day holds!!
Hi , I’ve been having a lot of knee issues , only 26 years old and trying to incorporate running into my training , please help ! ( the physio hasn’t helped )
You ran a full marathon in the same time it took for me to do a half-marathon... 😥😥 I need to do another half to redeem myself, but I am very much NOT a runner.
@@LucyDavisFit sorry I didn't see all your other videos and stuff I thought U were a random person who just did one, looks like you've been running for years and years, you've gone past that distance many times so technically it's not your first one haha 😆
I love how Steph and Lucy are always there for one another
It’s so cute! Made me appreciate my besties.

Well done, Lucy! So much character this showed, making this an even greater achievement. Very inspirational. 👊

I’m so hyped for next challenge or adventures.
Wishing you nothing but the best 🙏🏻❤️🫶🏻
Very inspirational. Especially the last couple minutes of your video. Thank you for sharing. Sending ❤ 🤗 from Texas.
Amazing time Lucy well done!
Congratulations Lucy 🎉🎉🏃♀️🏃♀️⌛️⌛️
Congratulations on your incredible marathon debut! 🏃♂💨 Here's to many more successful marathons ahead! 💖

Running the Boston half marathon next month! You've been so inspiring for me!
Amazing Lucy, even though it was painful, you should be so proud of yourself ❤
You did it! amazing job girl
Exceptional effort-believe me. That's fantastic and you should be proud.
6:10 wear your seatbelt darling B Safe ✨
You did amazing! And your hype crew 🎉
incredible and what an amazing time to complete your first marathon even with all the hurdles you had to face along the way......#inspiring
Sun 3 hour and having a coach would mean probably 6-7 runs per week. That’s what I found for those faster times, a lot more volume! London isn’t that flat either… 😊
I’d never do 6-7 runs as I lift as well! There will be a way I can do it one day alongside my lifting 👌🏼
The other alternative is a heap of zone 2 machine work or cycling and focusing on more quality work on your feet.
Im a partially sighted runner. My daughter and I ran London earlier this year and I agree - it’s NOT flat! My daughter got 3:16 and I (with a guide runner) got 4:44 👏🏽🎉
Amazing Lucy!! You're a beast!! You are a big inspiration for me!! thanks!! 😀
You look so beautiful, Lucy!
You are so cool Lucy! Congrats on your marathon!
Beast mode!

Congrats girl!!! You’re amazing ❤
Congrats!! ❤
Amazing work ❤❤
Ha! I did mine in 2:56!!! Actually, thinking about it, that was a half-marathon 😄
Well done!! 💪

Solid time! Bad ass!!!

Amazing, you did so so well. Excited to see you get even faster! 👏👏 I ran this as well and the final hill was a killer!
very cool!!! so inspirational. you have my respect 🫶🏼
So inspiring Lucy!! You’ve convinced me to sign up for a half marathon in Vancouver in May!! (I’ve never run before) so thank you ❤
Super inspiring me to get back into running!!!
Side note: where are your sunglasses from? Thanks!
Awesome video Lucy well done!!
I did Chester this year but ran negative splits so overtook many of the people who went out too hard at the start. Such a great feeling.
This is quite an odd comment. Well done but let’s not bash others 🙂
The way she would absolutely crush a triathlon
🎉🎉🎉 so interesting that it was actually harder than 100k! Well done!
Congrats Lucy! Very inspiring. :)
Fantastic. I plod short ultras, but marathons hurt a lot more and 10k and 5k hurt lots too, but differently. We’ll done 😊
Where are your jewelry from? Both your necklaces and earrings are so pretty❤️ Good job on the marathon - I think your time was very impressive🤩
Fabulous job Lucy!! 🏆😊💪

Well done Lucy, amazing time! I’m aiming for my first marathon in April and, as someone who normally lifts, I’m a little worried! 😂
Be careful, there is a lot of wind at lanzarote! Do your best (A follower from France)
Well done Lucy
So annoyed for you! But these things happen! So good you have the hunger now to go back again!
Obviously not even comparable, but I signed up for a 15km race in December 🥹 I’m aiming for a 1h 20min finish.

I think starting with a sub 43 min 10k for a 3:15 goal time is too fast. It may be the reason for the cramping
Crushed it 👌
Wait for the first marathon? No way haha
Yep 😁

About to run my first marathon....if she struggled....then I am s-----g myself right now 😂
