you are smashing the content matt. I don't have the patience to talk about this stuff on camera but I'm glad you do as it really does open peoples eyes to the features of these controllers. well done brother
For those confused on the daily mode and reverse in the last settings toggle where you update firmware hit that then toggle the switch to beta that gives you the option to update to the latest version witch daily and reverse are a option. Than you go on your display choose the mode put it to three then it should automatically just put the daily mode on your app to adjust it.
Greetings from across the pond in Virginia, bro. Love the vid - thanks for talking about the Talarias as I have both MX3 and MX4 and am absolutely planning on getting the Torp TC500 or Nucular P24F soon! I'll upgrade the stomach and muscles eventually😄, but I can't resist the tunable performance of these controllers that integrate with the stock BMS. Such a sick upgrade for these stock bikes. Looking forward to your Torp motor testing!
Hey man!! Thanks for watching and giving the kind feedback. I love to hear it have people watching from all over too!! I like to try and include all models of bikes when talking about the Torp products as they all work in similar ways!! I definitely recommend upgrading the controller first to add a bit more power on the stock battery. It’s a game changer. Plenty more content to come. I took a little break but i’ll be back soon and better than ever💯🔋⚡️
Good god. This controller sounds GOD-tier for people that want to run a high performance setup but still have the option to go street legal at the flick of a switch.
You can have it setup so that it is street legal upon start. Very neat. Turn it off and on and it's stock. You can adjust what the topspeed/power should be in "startup mode".
This controller is pretty impressive!! Definitely one of the best on the market especially for the price and how much power it adds to a stock battery!! 🔋⚡️
Thats what “surron mode” is, its an extra setting the can be activated by using the display or brake leavers that will decrease the power and speed of the bike to make it “street legal.” The option to adjust these settings is also available so it can be tailored for the certain laws in the area/country🔋⚡️
Do you think you could make a video going through the Torp app showing what could you you could do on what you talked about what your settings look like how do you use it?
Absolutely mate! Definitely been a plan of mine for a while to make a video along the lines of that but just thinking of ways to make it as interesting and entertaining as possible! Will make this video soon! 🙌🏻💯🔋⚡️
I had a tc500 then a chi 71v 51ah and it went pretty good but recently just installed the torp tm25 and tc1000 and its a whole different animal. The tc500 with the stock motor just didnt push enough torque for me. Now at 26.5kw and 700 phase amps its almost too much it easily lifts the front end up at 50mph.
The tm25 and tc1000 must be a beast of a combo for the surron! I’m yet to try it with a 72v battery and I think eventually i will upgrade to the tc1000 too. 700 phase amps sounds crazy too. 500 is already pretty crazy but 700 must be a different level! 🔋⚡️
@Matt francis official I wonder if the torp 500 or 1000 would work on the older talaria models like the talaria sting or sting r mx pro expert edition would be intresting to find out because of it does I will be all over it for my talaria sting r I would get 1 in a heart beat for sure
I’m not too sure about that tbh. I know its only recently that torp have updated everything to work with the Talaria bikes. I’m sure this will be in their plans for the future as it opens more doors for them to branch out and make more sales! 🔋⚡️
@mattfrancisofficial I will go on the website & maybe send them an email & if they say it will work I will be buying 1 for sure I will let you know how I get on so you have the Info for future reference
Absolutely man, this will be one of my next videos coming up! Its been planned since i’ve had the motor i just didn’t want to constantly post about the motor. Keep your eyes open though, definitely coming soon🙌🏻🔋⚡️
I dont unfortunately mate, i would love to make a video on that in the future though. A battery upgrade is definitely in my plans but will more than likely be a 72v before anything else 🔋⚡️
You need to make sure you have done the latest Beta update, then on the torp display go to the page that has the C/F settings and MPH/KMH settings. Hold down the power button at the top of the torp display, you will have to do this twice to get onto the second page. Then there is an option the will say 2 or 3. Change it to 3 and that will give you the extra level. I did try film this for the video but the display flickers on my camera which makes it megga hard to see what is actually happening. Hope this helps. If not, message me on instagram and i’ll try show you on there.🔋⚡️
I dont think that would work as the motor would already be moving in the opposite direction. To activate reverse the motor and bike needs to be fully stopped. 🔋⚡️
Ya sur , but you can stop at start of downhill and let the bike go , after that can reverse be use ! It’s a power that tries to change the motor direction, it’s possible.
In torp website there is a thumb throttle, ( Torp Thumb Throttle is used for regenerative braking and reverse.) , maybe they already find some way to slow down with reverse.
Sounds like you ride fast!!! These bikes hate doing top speed for long periods of time. They can take a thrashing but riding at constant high speeds will over heat the battery and the stock motor unfortunately. Best way to avoid it is riding fast but in bursts instead of consistently. Only other way to avoid it is upgrading the battery to a custom battery/72v battery that can handle the higher temperature and discharge!🔋⚡️
@@mattfrancisofficial yeah I live in Brooklyn which the bike is great for in this city. I enjoy abusing it until it tells me to relax cause for the most part it takes a while for that to happen and I’ll probably be home by that point but it happens

I finally sold my electric scooter, nami burn e. I've got the talaria sting r, road legal, all ordered. I've got some big plans for her when she's here
Can you Tell me how to Switch to Daily Mode? I already configurated Eco, Daily and Sport Mode in the App, but when i press the Mode Button on the Display it only switches between eco and Sport. Thanks!
Make sure you have done the latest torp beta update, once complete go on the torp display, go to the page that has kph/mph and c/f on it, hold down the power button for around 3 seconds but do it twice to get to the next page then put mode settings from 2 to 3🔋⚡️
I’m looking to get the tc500 for a stock 2023 light bee x my battery is the 40ah is it worth it as in terms of speed upgrade and then later on I’d get a 72v.?
100% worth it!! If you haven’t got one yet and still have the bike then get one, you wont regret it! Its more the torque and acceleration thats boosted. The top speed doesn’t raise by much, maybe 10mph at best but for the acceleration its worth it!!
Its just a basic Bar Headlight that i got from Amazon. There are loads of then on amazon and ebay for both talaria and surron just make sure you get the correct one for which ever bike you are using.
Does anyone know if you can keep the Standard Screen Display on the MX4 (the street legal version, big screen) with the Torp Controllers or do you have to switch?
If you want to use the horn still you will need to keep the horn button that is attached to the stock eco/sport mode buttons. There is aftermarket horn buttons available like the warp9 horn button which you can use to replace the stock horn button.
I don’t think the KO motor is an option for the torp controller. I may be wrong but i’m pretty sure that is accurate. Also the torp tm25 motor is superior to the KO motor anyway, i would opt for the torp tm25! 💯🔋⚡️
I dont have any discount codes unfortunately and i would recommend buying from Torp directly although some other trusted dealers will stock parks every so often!💯🔋⚡️
It was an update for both the display and controller. Make sure your app is updated to the latest version as this will cause problems when trying to update the controller! 💯🔋⚡️
do you know how to calibrate the speedometer? i have a 54 tooth sprocket and stock talaria display if anyone can help me i would really help me out thanks and i have the torp 500
You should be able to calibrate the speedo by changing the gear ratio and wheel sizes on the last page of the torp app. I use a GPS speedo on my phone to match up to the bike display and tweak the settings on the app until it reads correctly in accordance with the GPS speed reading!
There’s an Iron Maiden song called the number of the beast. The number is 666. My bike is a beast so its number is 666. Nothing to do with satan or the devil or any of that shit😂
Might be cringe to you but it saves us from being targeted by thieves or any other trouble that comes with riding these bikes. I would love to show my face and not have to wear a helmet when making these videos but it’s more trouble than it’s worth.
It is NOT SAFE to draw more A from the stock battery. Don't misinform people. There is a reason 5500w is the design spec and max draw for the stock bike. This should be obvious, but: Pulling more amps from the cheap Chinese cells in the stock pack causes HEAT, which results in, at minimum, reduced cycle life, and can result in a fire. You can't get something for nothing. Want more power? Then do it the CORRECT way and buy/build a proper back that can handle 250+ amps. Not 80 of the stock pack.
With the Torp controller it is safe! There is no need to bypass the BMS so it all still functions as normal. If anything it’s safer on the Torp controllers as you can monitor the battery temperature and a lot of other information, it even counts charge cycles and shows all error history. The Torp controllers have a Max and Min voltage cut off so if that ever happens the controller will cut the bike out. The torp will also send a warning when the battery gets warm and then will cut out if the temperature gets too hot. Surron limit these bikes so much from stock because they dont want people claiming on warranty after a few months so they limit power to compensate for this. I’ve been riding for months pulling 8.6kw and at 140a battery current and have never had a battery issue and it has never come close to over heating. I wouldn’t say thats misinformation it’s torp taking advantage of the power that the stock battery can actually handle, still at a safe and controlled level!
@@mattfrancisofficial Nope. You're taking a battery pack, again with not premium Chinese cells, that is designed for 80A FOR A REASON and pulling 120A from it. What I said above stands. No different than taking a Chi battery designed for 200A and playing "let's see what happens" by pulling 300A from it for an extended period. Best case scenario - you get reduced cycle life as a result of pulling way more amps from the cells than they were designed for. Again: if something seems too good to be true ("50% more power from your stock pack! Only idiots spend $2k+ on a premium battery pack!"), it usually is. The right way to do it, for those who want more power, is to upgrade BOTH controller and pack.
But thats not what torp is saying and i really doubt they would be selling the volumes of controllers that they do sell if it was dangerous and if it was causing people problems. They’re not saying at all that only idiots pay 2K plus for an upgraded battery pack. They wanted to make a controller suitable for all battery types and if you want to upgrade to 72v or 60v custom batteries then the option is there but for people looking for a bit more power with the stock batteries then just buying the controller offers that. Each to their own with it but I wouldn’t look back since having the Torp controller and have safely been riding my bike at double power with no problems and no decrease in range of the battery compared to stock controller. If anything i get more range from drawing more power with the Torp because the controller uses the power more efficiently than the stock controller does. I’m sticking with my torp and stock battery until i can get 72v
