  • My Super Beetle is so close to being driveable. I’ll give you an update, show you what I’ve repaired and how I failed at making a brake pressure bleeder.
Here’s the Motive brake pressure bleeder I
wish I would have bought instead of trying to make my own:

I'll also review some IAP Performance VW parts.

I had the same issue with my home made brake fluid pressure.
I could not make it seal.
I use it now to refill transfer case...
It makes it easy and faster to refill large quantities

I made a brake bleeder with a mason jar, copper tubing, some hose, JB weld and a old vacuum pump. Works great. Not sure what the advantage of a pressure bleeder is except the mess. I've never seen one work without oil everywhere.

I definitely understand the lack of time. But I would love to see a bit more about what you're doing to the car. When you have time, of course. All the best to you and your family!

Thanks. These Beetle videos aren't getting many views, so I don't know how many more I'll make.

Hell yeah you should be documenting all the things and getting us through this. Please do! (I miss wrenching on my old beetle, so it would be a comfort for sure.)

You made some good progress and IMHO your addressing the correct things in the necessary order. Mechanical and safety are priority. The rest can come later. My suggestion is to record all of the little projects and then condense into 2-3 or 4 project uploads. I think many subs are interest interested in the details and obstacles encountered on the way. Keep up the good work

Thanks for the kind words. The Beetle videos have so far not performed very well, so I'm unsure how many more I will make.

Nice to see you being back.
I for one don’t mind more in-depth hands on videos as you work on whatever projects.
If we now also can get German Tool Reviews guy back too, the TH-cam will be back to normal.

Thanks for the content I would watch stuff that you put out as far as work you're doing to it but I also understand if you don't want to because I get how time consuming filming it while doing the work would be.

    • @ToolTeardowns
      @ToolTeardowns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

I was born in 73' & pops owned a beetle until I was 15. I wanted to drive it but he sold it due to the rotted out floor (common problem).

  • @worldsails2000

Why don't you use the pop bottle method for bleeding the brakes? I've been using this method for my cars for many years. You can do it by yourself, just make sure you don't let the brake fluid reservoir run dry.

I've done that in the past, but wouldn't work this time. I tried it.
