I had the same dilemma about changing my 430i to 440i MPE (dual exhaust) but at the end of the day...who cares -- as long as you don't upbadge the car, it shouldn't matter if you go single exit/twin tip or dual exhaust.
Lol there’s always somthin to do…but as you were saying it -i was thinking the same thing…it looks clean..like it shoulda came from bmw like that.i could say it’s a 328i at its peak.
On my car got valve cutout and sounds Amazing. I did this way because cops are very Strict when it comes to exhaust mods. I got stopped and I the officer it's a flap that closes and opens and they let me go. They said enjoy it but dont race
I did mine by myself a long time ago and it was not fun I did it on my 2006 330i, I used a y pipe and custom fitted the piping downside was because I didn't want it to hang so low so I cut out the spare tire compartment and to get them to be able to have the dual tips I had to cut section of my battery compartment out so that they could be even with each other then I cut out my bumper after tracing out the factory exhaust hole then molded it to look like it was factory made, Bondo and painted it. I ordered some dual carbon fiber tips and installed them. I didn't like the way other people ran the piping along side the rear bumper and said sacrifices must be made to make it look like it was supposed to have dual exhaust so the removal of the spare tire compartment and custom bumper work was the best and nicest way to go. When u post videos about doing mods to the car u should atleast do them your self not pay a shop to do it for u way more gratifying and respectable to say "I did a mod to my car" not paid someone to do it for me.
Wow that sounds like a lot of work but props to you doing all that yourself! While I do agree that it does feel better to do the mods yourself, but when you do certain modifications yourself you run the risk of messing something up or damaging a part of the car. With something like this, I don't have any sort of experience with exhaust work so I felt more comfortable having someone who does this for living do the work for me. However I do try to do most modifications myself and most of the modifications on this car I did myself. This exhaust work is the only thing I decided not to do myself.
@@InlineSixAuto I completely agree cause I have done alot of mess ups but the good part is everything is fixable and to gain the knowledge of how to fix something broken especially on the car that you work on is very valuable. You going put the resonator back on because the little noise in the car because you now have the exhaust on both side and nice bmw I never see that colour before
I’m looking for a e90 328 as my first car and I’ve been watching your videos over and over again for about a month now. I do have a question though just for clarification: what exactly is the exhaust set up? Resonator and muffler delete plus secondary cat delete?
I'd say its pretty rare because I've only seen a handful of other E90s with this same color since I got mine. Most weren't in good condition tho. So I'm trying to keep this color clean.
Yoo I been watching you for like 2weeks now and I have a 2009 328i and I wanted to know do u know the inches of the pipes stuff cause I’m trying go dual !
I would think its because you deleted the secondary cats. I didnt delete my secondary cats. just the muffler and resonator. I havent had any issues passing in California lol
@@InlineSixAutoI've been lurking around forums and on the web on how to do the conversion and options on how to do it and this video gave me a bunch of insight. Oh and if you want some coding done LMK I just got my portable coding setup for my e90 and I can help you out too! Check me out on instagram @beetlejouzefoto
Ok so just to clarify when doing dual exhaust on a single exhaust car the two pipes being different lengths won’t mess anything up or cause back pressure ?
I didn't notice any difference and no issue came up now 2.5 years later. I still have the dual conversion but I did alter the setup a bit by adding a magnaflow muffler to lower the drone
Yes you could but youd have to just cut out another exit into the bumper. Also since you I assume you have a 328i with the single exit on the driver side, you'd have to do a quad exhaust if you want the exits to match. if you want the dual like like I did you'd have to get a 335i bumper regardless with or without the diffuser.
The headlights are my original xenons just customized with LED angel eye rings from here www.bavgruppedesign.com/products/round-6k-white-angel-eyes-bmw-e92e90e82-135i335i/ The exhaust setup I had the shop create it as shown in the video
hey man i really want to do this but i dont know if i should in texas its prohibited to have a muffler delete but i dont know what to do i mean if it was illegal for you ill probably do it
I mean muffler deletes are not really enforced in California in my area. It's mainly emissions related parts that are enforced but muffler doesn't effect emissions.
It just called an M Performance diffuser with the dual exit. There's a ton available on ebay which is where I got it from. However, the one I specifically got isnt available anymore. Here's one but in gloss black ebay.us/iRxTGZ
It looks really great. but I am concerned that the other exit doesnt have a heatshield. Can you keep us up to date if the plastic melts or gets damaged? great work on it dude
Yes I was concerned about that also but I hadn't seen anybody have that issue. And I haven't seen any signs that it will melt. It seems like its not getting hot enough on that side to melt anything. But I'll definitely update if anything starts happening though!
It will definitely start to melt the plastic plus anything you have stored in the crappy plastic compartment could be damaged too . I’d install a heat shield asap.
I dont think so. The stock muffler would need to be removed to make room. I did end up installing a magnaflow muffler in place while still keeping the dual setup shown in this other video th-cam.com/video/SAf4Pj5jsW4/w-d-xo.html
Not really initially, but I ended up installing a magnaflow muffler with the dual tips and it felt like it had a bit more low end torque so maybe I did loose a bit of power
@@InlineSixAutowhat size exhaust tips did u have on at the time ? Or did u like the magna flow muffler with dual tips better overall sound and cabin noise?
@@xsil20x I had the same 4 inch tips before and after doing the magnaflow. To me it sounded pretty much the same with ot without the magnaflow but it helped reduce the drone inside the cabin with the magnaflow
@@InlineSixAuto would u say that your the single exhaust with with muffler delete setup was better overall sound and drone wise in cabin ? And what size dual tips was on the original single exhaust setup also ? Reason I ask is cause I’m literally about to do that same setup my self and was only gonna do just the muffler delete with dual 3.5 tip setup just like your original setup
@@xsil20x Yeah the single exit with the muffler and resonator delete had better overall sound with a good amount of drone though. The drone wasn't as bad as it was when I did the dual conversion in this video, it was REALLY bad once I did this conversion. And it doesn't sound as good as the single exit. I had 3.5 inch Y tip with the single exit setup
@@InlineSixAuto alright thank you so much for replying back bro🙏🏼 hopefully my muffler shop will be able to do this since i only have 3 muffler shops in my area
I have a 08 328 and it has the same set up, as far as the resonator and muffler delete, has is ever caused a P0430 code to come up? If so how did you fix that? Cause my cats are fine everything works as it should but I have a smell of burning oil in my car and I can’t find where it is, any advice?
I've never experienced that code so I am not too sure. The only time I've smelled burning oil in mine was when I had a valve cover gasket oil leak that was leaking onto the exhaust manifold. Went away after I replaced the gasket. If you're smelling burning oil and you have that code, I would assume there is something wrong with your cats. Whether it be the O2 sensors or the cat itself may not be functioning properly if its high mileage, or you have a leak somewhere in the exhaust system possibly. I would take it too a euro shop that has a high end scanner to get some data on the system, they'll probably be able to help more than me lol. I know it'll cost you but sometimes we got no choice with these cars.
I wanna do this with my 2016 328i, it’s pushing 320+ hp, it’s a 4 banger turbo so I’m not sure how it would sound but any link or tips for the parts and labor?
It should be easier to do on yours since its an F30.The tips I linked in description could fit yours. Not sure how much labor would cost but I would imagine it wouldn't be more than my cost.
I got them from a website called Element Wheels but they don't appear to offer them anymore. But there are other sites that do. Just search Asanti ABL-12, thats the name of these

I’m looking for a e90 328 as my first car and I’ve been watching your videos over and over again for about a month now.
I do have a question though just for clarification: what exactly is the exhaust set up? Resonator and muffler delete plus secondary cat delete?
Aye thanks for watching! So my exhaust set up is just a muffler and resonator delete only. I still have my secondary cats and everything else.
i have a e92 328 and i have secondary cat, res deletes and then the aa muffler is amazing sounds.
SOOOO CLEANNN BROOO. Honestly this is the most beautiful color for an e90. How rare is barbera red for a 328? I want one now lmao
I'd say its pretty rare because I've only seen a handful of other E90s with this same color since I got mine. Most weren't in good condition tho. So I'm trying to keep this color clean.
No 2nd cats, res, and single chamber muffler is fire
Bih clean asf
sick car man
Brooooo I totally need your advice when I get the 328i E90 in a few months. I’ll have to hit you up
For sure. DM on Insta @HallenBMW!
What size tips did you get? Want to do the same setup but rather order my own black tips while ordering the diffuser. What size inlet outlet? Thank u
I got 4 inch dual walled tips.
@@InlineSixAuto thanks!
I have a pre lci 318i i want to get this mod and get an n52 motor and transmission with all its harness and swap
I have a e90 328i this color too !
Yoo I been watching you for like 2weeks now and I have a 2009 328i and I wanted to know do u know the inches of the pipes stuff cause I’m trying go dual !
Do you want to know the diameter of the pipe or length of the pipe? If you take it to a muffler shop they’ll do all the measuring for you.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful
What size are your wheels and tires?
How are you passing emission cause i did a muffler and res delete and it took me so long to get it to pass
Also deleted the secondary cats as well
I would think its because you deleted the secondary cats. I didnt delete my secondary cats. just the muffler and resonator. I havent had any issues passing in California lol
I love your e90 bro! Did yours come with the upgraded headlights?
Nope those are my factory xenon headlights with a custom retrofit with aftermarket LED Rings! And thanks!
Car is looking good man. I didn't know you where a local from San Diego
Yeah man. No place I’d rather be 🙌. And thanks!
For sure! Glad I could help.
WAIT!!! you live in Escondido that’s crazy I live in Chula Vista and I work there all the time
Yepp I’m in North County. But Sickk, I’m Always around San Marcos, Escondido, Vista, Oceanside. Occasionally I’ll go down to SD.
@15:30 What was that rattling noise after revs?
It isn’t a rattling noise, it’s just an exhaust noise that’s common with the n52. Not sure why it does that but it’s normal from what I’ve seen.
Why did he weld on a y pipe if it’s resonator deleted?? The resonator goes dual to single on the n52….
i wanna do this to my f30 328i but i wanna know the price of the muffler shops to do it for me
I belive its easier to do on the F30 so it should be cheaper than what I paid for mine
Was your EVAP box on that right side or was it nothing in that space?
I see now
So he customized it
Ok so just to clarify when doing dual exhaust on a single exhaust car the two pipes being different lengths won’t mess anything up or cause back pressure ?
I didn't notice any difference and no issue came up now 2.5 years later. I still have the dual conversion but I did alter the setup a bit by adding a magnaflow muffler to lower the drone
Wouldn't that mess up the flow? The way it's bent
I thought so too but Didn’t notice any difference tbh
ive been looking for this wrap and cant find it any where i want it soo bad
This isnt a wrap. Its the factory color
I have a 2007 E92 could you do this to a stock bumper with out the diffuser? (Duel exhaust conversion)
Nice car. Thx for sharing!!!!!!
What headlights are those and whered you get the exhaust set up?
The headlights are my original xenons just customized with LED angel eye rings from here www.bavgruppedesign.com/products/round-6k-white-angel-eyes-bmw-e92e90e82-135i335i/
The exhaust setup I had the shop create it as shown in the video
did you have to use shorter tips than usual since passenger side doesnt have a lot of room
Yess, they’re only like 4.5 inches in length
hey man i really want to do this but i dont know if i should in texas its prohibited to have a muffler delete but i dont know what to do i mean if it was illegal for you ill probably do it
I mean muffler deletes are not really enforced in California in my area. It's mainly emissions related parts that are enforced but muffler doesn't effect emissions.
Do u know what size piping 335i coupe 2007 have want to do a muffler delete and was wondering if those tips fit
You could make these fit, the shop that does your muffler delete will be able to use the correct sized piping for it to fit
@@InlineSixAuto so I can go 3.5 piping?
@@omarluque8470 The ones I have linked have a 3inch inlet
Which rear bumper facia did you get? And where from?
It just called an M Performance diffuser with the dual exit. There's a ton available on ebay which is where I got it from. However, the one I specifically got isnt available anymore. Here's one but in gloss black ebay.us/iRxTGZ
What side skirts and front splitter did you use?
Side skirts I got from here www.ebay.com/itm/193611302333
The front splitter isn’t available anymore. It was from eBay also
It looks really great. but I am concerned that the other exit doesnt have a heatshield.
@@1983stu54 I will look into it
@@InlineSixAuto have u had any problems so far?
@@twinuzis3781 zero problems, still havent put a heat shield. nothing as melted or burned
Anyway to do this without a muffler delete?
I dont think so. The stock muffler would need to be removed to make room. I did end up installing a magnaflow muffler in place while still keeping the dual setup shown in this other video th-cam.com/video/SAf4Pj5jsW4/w-d-xo.html
Looks awesome! Did you lose any power in acceleration?
Not any noticeable loss. Pretty sure the power is the same. If there is a loss, its insignificant
Did you notice any power loss from the change in back pressure, planning on doing this with my e92 but with duel tips
I have single exit right now, what would i have to ask the shop to get mine done like yours?
you would just ask them if they could do a dual exhaust tip conversion. You could show them this video to get an idea how.
We’re did you find the m performance bumper I’ve been trying to find something similar or an m3 bumper setup but idk if it’ll fit on my 328xi
I have it linked in description. It will fit yours as long as its an E90
Do I need to buy an exhaust or no?
Looks great . How many hp have now ?
Probably still the same. It doesn’t add any power from what I can tell.
is this considered a catback conversion? sorry if i sound stupid, i am new to cars and i am trying to learn. This video was very helpful :)
No worries. I wouldn't say this is a catback. this is just a muffler delete essentially. A catback is an actual aftermarket muffler.
No Muff too tuff! Should be every exhaust shops slogan.
Did you have to order a new bottom piece for the back?
The diffuser? Yes I had to get one with two exhaust tip exits
Looks great! 🔥
What are typical prices for muffler and resonator deletes?
Usually around $300-$400 If both are done at the same time
What exhaust setup do you have on before this?
Just a muffler and resonator delete
where’d you get your wheels from?
I got them from a website called Element Wheels but they don't appear to offer them anymore. But there are other sites that do. Just search Asanti ABL-12, thats the name of these
What headlights are those or is it only Led bulbs
They're my stock headlights just retrofitted with aftermarket angel eye rings from Bavgruppe Designs. Theyre linked in description!
