Thanks for suspension advice , 80 quid about the price for each plus manpower. Mine changed near the five year mark , 35000 miles at that point , not bad video
Very informative Matt, keep them coming! Didn’t know our 2015 Zoe had the rapid charge motor till I saw this, having only charged at home during lockdown since buying it last June. Ours is due a service imminently, so the anti roll-bar info is worth having, as it’s only done 15.5k miles; also must find out how you scroll the display, didn’t know you could! Lot to learn still 😀
Go Green Autos Ltd And, surprisingly, you’ve got 1 thumbs down at the time of writing this message! Who, and why!! Keep them coming, I always find them useful and interesting.
An interesting look around. Interesting that it’s easy to see a lot of crap under the white painted bonnet underneath! Most ICE cars have black ‘matting’ underneath that at least hides a lot of it. Hopefully there are air filters on the intake for the air con! Presumably it uses the radiator for the a/c coolant as well, or it might have an small independent one, like most do? E.g. most petrol hybrids actually have 3 radiators - engine/power electric/air con. What wasn’t clear is where the battery cooling fan air intake is. Sometimes there are long term problems with them becoming clogged with imported rubbish etc, reducing the cooling performance. Also a problem with Hybrid ones (e.g. my Yaris has an underseat air intake for that purpose for the traction battery cooling fan). Worth cleaning under maintenance, no doubt.
Hi Very informative videos I’m doing a bit of homework on electric cars before I buy one So your videos are answering a lot of my questions about electric cars Cheers Isn 😃👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great video, sounds like the anti-roll bars haven't been upgraded to take the heavier weight of EV batteries, only a smallish fix but a bit off-putting tbh..
The (22kWh) battery weight is only 290kg. But of course, there's no gearbox, tank of fuel, etc etc. The whole car is only 1463kg. All modern cars have got heavier, but EVs aren't much heavier than their ICE counterparts. Certainly not as much as most people are let to believe by the press.
Hi, thanks for the informative video. What is that black ducting air intake looking thing above the R motor? I have a Renault ZOE from 2018. There is a lot of noise coming from that black unit when i use the heater.
I've not needed to take one apart, but I think that tube is venting the air from the top of the motor stack to the ground. There looks to be a fan on the top of the motor stack. As for coolant draining, again not done this myself, but there's usually a top on the lower radiator outlet.
Not a nice thought at 8:39 Btw, is there a difference with the ZE40? We got this weird round whole underneath on the front side. The 22 version doesn't have it, but you do see a round shape with the 22 on the same position in the plastic.
The round hole is an air extraction vent. You'll notice on the top of your motor is a fan and ducting to the ground. It all looks very similar to an air filter on a combustion engine. On the Zoe, it is venting the heat away from the motor stack.
@@GoGreenAutos Thank you for your quick response! I just wonder, why isn't it there on the ZE 22 then? On your video I see a little round shape there, like they knew they would make a hole in the next version? Confusing.
@@cg986 It depends on the motor. The rapid charging cars with 43kW AC charging used a Continental motor without this fan, whereas the 22kW AC charging cars used a Renault motor with the fan.
Keen eye. It was but not touching. There's not enough ground clearance on many EVs to get the pad extensions in. Pads raised up as much as possible. I bought this lift because of the extension kit which will allow the arm to miss battery packs, but the trouble is most of the vehicles are too low to get them in there.
Not sure if anyone can help? Occasionally we get a loud whirring noise (when accelerating). It usually happens after hitting a bump. It sounds like something not sitting flush in a cog near the motor or front wheels. (or something!) To make it stop we have to stop the car, press the brake hard and then restart the car completely. Any ideas anyone please? Thanks a mil. It didn’t happen as often when we got the suspension refreshed (but still happens).
The Zoe motor does get loader with age/mileage. But it sounds like this isn't motor whine. You could try changing the oil in the reduction gear (transmission). But if you get it after hitting a bump, it must be suspension linked. I've seen two EVs now with loose wheel hub nuts (probably due to mistakes from past work), so might be worth checking they are tight.
its nice that your selling cars but i would like more stats and hard numbers not just a walk around i am picking up my zoe tomorow used and went thru the manueal but was useles i know you did a tutorial on the zoe just saying your demographic will never hold it against you if you from more specs in there
I'm sure I've covered this in other videos on the channel. Also www.gogreenautos.co.uk/buyers-guide/renault-zoe-guide (although it does need updating as a few years old now).
All EVs do. Means the main 400V battery can be offline when the car is turned off. So the 12V runs the central locking, starts the ECUs, dash, lights etc etc before the 400V battery kicks in,

So am I. Very few views too. Still, I'll keep making them in the hope that more people find them later.

very useful video, I have actually subscribed this time. :). All you videos I have watched so far have been very helpful and informative.
Thank you.
@@GoGreenAutos you have been very helpful over the past few days and have replied to my messages which I really do appreciate.

Its a fan which blows down underneath the vehicle. If you put your head underneath the undertray, you'll see where it vents out.
Where would I find the horn? Zoe 2021. I assume it’s left side from of the wheel.
Bonjour. Quelle est la resistance d'isolement MIN acceptee, des phases (U, W, V) pour que le moteur fonctionne comme il faut? 🤔 Merci.
Thank you very much ! 👍👍👍
Original continental motor not available any more , not since early 2019
What is the tube doing on the right side of the motor?
Any "convenient" way to drain the coolant?

As helpful as all your videos. You say for " newbies" but it's also a handy reminder for forgetful old Codgers who own GoGreen Zoes like me!
Why in this thread? Sounds interesting I agree. Sold the Zoe ( back on topic)

Hi there. I’ve got a problem with my Zoe. Who do you use to repair your cars
Use a hevra.org.uk/ garage
Very informative, thank you.
Is that 12v battery not a deep cycle ?
No. Only Tesla do that. All other OEMs just use the same lead acid batteries they use on the ICE vehicles.
The lift was a bit snug against the battery pack and cill. I'd raise the pads a bit next time ☺

Amazing that they need a lead acid battery
