The Chevy Corvette C6 ZR1 MIGHT be my favorite Corvette ever. Insanely raw, a manual gearbox, and the monster LS9 powerhouse of an engine. It's got the feeling of an old school sports car, but with a ton of mechanical grip. Kyle Loftis of 1320video was kind enough to let me rip his absolutely bonkers 890HP Corvette ZR1 to the point my GoPro decided to fall off. So let me show you what the C6 ZR1 is really all about.

@@nickadkins7765 Expensive is an understatement, a pair of carbon fiber seats from them is over 6 grand before tax. But they're worth it and if i had fuck you money and a c6 I'd get em.

My late father was a designer at General Motors for over 20 years and actually had the pleasure to design the plexiglass on the hood of the c6 zr1! He was always so proud of that!! Awesome car!!!

I think I like the 7 liter ls7 c6 z06 the most. Big displacement, revs to 7000. I love it. 😂

@@Quenn21 Z06 revs to 7k. With heads and cam and you can raise the limiter though 🙂 the red C6Z06 David reviewed was actually my car, along with the green 98 stock TT6 Supra! Loved both of those cars. The Z06 now belongs to a military guy in VA Beach, and the Supra belongs to a guy in the Orange County California area.
Z06 is faster in every way except top speed

C6Z06 and C6ZR1 are two of my favorites corvettes ever. I personally own a 1100rwhp C6Z06. The pure rawness is what I love about it so much, and the manual of course✌️👍
Personally, I love the C7 gen more, but there's no knocking the C6 gen. They're absolute beasts and look pretty damn good too!
Also I can't imagine how insane 1100rwhp has to be. The highest I've owned was around 600rwhp 😅
I had the pleasure of owning a c6 z06 which was my childhood dream car but sold it so I could start my own business. I’d love to own a c6 zr1 one day

@@da602hustler Cool ride you got there for sure👍. Honestly I can't even explain what's it like to lay into the 1100rhp in 3rd-5th. Literally time stands still, a cross between fear and absolute adrenaline.
Those aftermarket seats are over 4k & way better than a lot of newer model cars 😅

@OpticalToxin It went good for the first part, but later on, they didn't have me feeling the greatest, I never got a later call back. However tho, I did get my G1 back. I'm so happy with that going forward!!

I drove a C6 ZO6 with the 7.0. Heads, exhaust, stage 3 BTR cam, and a tune. 600 and change and man it put a smile on my face the whole time.
even crazier that the lap time it set at the Nürburgring still holds up too

Lucky enough to drive the c6 zo6 and Jesus....yes please! And the amount of g's it can pull is amazing. It's super raw. IF I were to buy a Corvette, that's the one.
I would love to see the old ZR1 King of the Hill with the first quad overhead cam V8 they made. That shit with my dream car as a kid now the new one is with with the new quad cam with a flat plane crank got to love the high revving sound
The gearing is crucial. Nobody talks about this.
I came from a 996 turbo with upgraded turbos and bought my 2010 zr1 last year. My first domestic car and, absolutely amazes me every time I drive it.
That’s cause you had a 996 turbo….I bet if you had a 997 turbo manual one or even a 991 turbo with the PDK it would be blow your mind fast fast with minimal upgrades

C6 ZR1 with a Kong 2650 upgrade is my favorite form of corvette. Midnight performance raced one Years back and really solidified that for me lol
Zr1 vs a ninja H2 is one of the craziest zr1 vids I've seen to display its speed.
Sick! C6s are such over performing cars... they'll keep up with or out perform higher horsepower cars....C7 and C8s are amazing but something about the C6 makes it my favorite generation, simple, aggressive , and beautiful.

Hell yeah I have an 08 ZO6 it's such a badass car. At the time I couldn't find the ZR1, or I would gotten that instead.
My dad almost bought one when I was a teenager, But having just bought land and having been laid off made him reconsider spending another 70k. Who knows, maybe that Z-06 would have changed my mind on Vettes before the ZR1's did. A ZR1 in that blue color they had is absolute perfection in my eyes and has since I saw my first one in 2009.

Hell you can find a ZO6 for under 30k, I remember when they were really pricey. For a car with 505HP under 30k isn't bad at all, with some bolt ons could easily get it at 900 horsepower. Hell mine doesn't even have a supercharger got it at 820-ish with just bolt on's, I can't imagine the power it would make with a supercharger..

This was the vette that made me change my opinion of Corvettes as a teenager. I hated them and thought they were lame, but then this came out senior year and I was in love. Especially after seeing one in that blue color they had in person. Though maybe I'd have changed my opinion earlier had my dad bought that Z-06 he was looking at in 08-09, But sadly he decided against it since he bought land at the end of 08 and he had been laid off.

C6 Z cars will always be my summit cars. Nothing can be done to make them much better from the stock form without changing the entire car.

I want to get a c6 grand sport myself but I’m waiting for car prices to drop more.
They’re not going to drop too much if they are manuals. My advice is pay the extra couple grand to get a super low mileage one. You would be surprised with how much a few k can make on the condition of car, especially when they’re all selling for over $30k now, might as well stretch it

@@sfielding10001 Silent option is awesome. Completely stealth and be silent in your neighborhood so you don't annoy neighbors and you can be sneaky around cops. When enabled during highway pulls his car sounds like a fighter jet, check out the 1320 video on Kyle's Garage, it's wild.

It doesnt have a "cobalt steering wheel", that style of wheel came out on the 2006 C6 Z06, and the Cobalt didnt get that wheel until the 2007 Cobalt
