Banjo pickers seem to be genuine people. They are just who they are. Nothing more, nothing less. That was also the perfect description of my husband. He was a banjo picker. Stay genuine Phoebe only I do not believe you could be anything other than just who you are.
A song stuck in your head and glue stuck in your hair, but everything's fine cause you won't back down! And now the song's stuck in my head, which is a good thing because your version is awesome.
That's lovely! I've only recently started to play around on a banjo, something fun to do as an older gentleman. Bit of a hobby really. To see such a young talent fills me with hope and awe. Pick on little lady!
This made my night, made me really happy. They sing this at University of Florida where Tom Petty was from. I “dropped out” for a while but this makes me want to go back and resume classes. You covered the song beautifully, you really conveyed the spirit and the message behind the lyrics and played it so freely with such confidence. You definitely stood your ground. 🪕🪕🪕
Dear Phoebe, I really like your style and I appreciate how you present your music to us, authentically, without vanity and with a lot of love for music. I really enjoy the minutes that I get to listen to you. Best wishes from Brandenburg/Germany.
I’m new to banjo playing and would love a tutorial on your version of Salt Spring (the one on the gourd banjo, or I Wont Back Down. I’ve watched lots of tutorials but your style seems mellow and special 😊
This was awesome. Love Tom Petty and I Won't Back Down, and pairing it with the banjo, made this cover just perfect. Thanks so much for sharing it with us despite your hair! Honestly, it just looked like it was hot out when you were recording as it's definitely been picking up here in Arizona. Stay cool and hydrated! :D
Beautiful song to end my day with. 🙂 Plus, I’ve been out of all loops for a couple of weeks, and your channel is up to 19k subscribers! Way to go Phoebe! 👍
My husband and I enjoyed this very much this morning! He had never heard you before! Well, I fixed that. I heard you on the radio today! I only listen to the radio in the car and I was running an errand, and there you were on WHUS, Storrs, Connecticut. 😃👍👏🌞 I love that your cute doggy was wagging her tail so enthusiastically. You are amazing! With love and admiration from Hebron, Connecticut.
Outdoor mic worked well... picked up so well! You played it so well. Sorry about the "bad hair" day (or days to get rid of glue!!!) One can tell when you've been through something.
That is a great adaptation. It’s true to Tom Petty’s classic and you added a great twist to it. Very nice job. I really miss Tom Petty. Thank you. P.S. Both dogs went in the house together. When they came out, one had a wallet in her mouth and the other one had some jewelry. Keep your eyes on um.
You have a foxtail fern! I have two of them, named Aspar and Gus (since they're also known as asparagus ferns), that I picked up looking sad and cold in the sunless back of a grocery store in rural Texas a decade ago. They're still hanging in there today! I always notice them in other people's gardens.
That's a great story, and I love it, but I have to admit the first thing that popped into my mind was the movie "The Lonely Guy" starring banjo-picking great Steve Martin. I saw Steve in a small venue in the early '70s before he became famous while he was still performing standup with his banjo.
I love that *old guy warning* you know so much old music. Me and my buddy Bill do Breakdown and Mary Jane's Last Dance out. I think we need to add this one. Get off my lawn!

had a dream a few weeks ago that Doc Watson had done a bluegrass arrangement of Breakdown and tried to write it up for guitar when I woke up but it didn't turn out all that good

... and magnificently so. 🙏
Must be the coveralls and work hat.
I know a banjo player that is hell of arrogant, but I guess there are always exceptions to the stereotypes
NOT ONLY IS SHE TALENTED SHE'S AS CUTE AS A KITTEN!!!
Thank you for bringing a smile to my face.. the banjo, your precious honest face, your lovely furry family.. God is in the daisies...💖
A song stuck in your head and glue stuck in your hair, but everything's fine cause you won't back down! And now the song's stuck in my head, which is a good thing because your version is awesome.

You're one of my very favorite banjo TH-camrs. And banjo is about all I listen to anymore.

That is a gorgeous clawhammer version of a great song. I'm going to have to try and copy that one. Nicely done!
Love this, Dr. Phoebe!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Loved it! If you're still having trouble getting all the glue out, nail polish remover should do it. New mic sounds great too!

Get off my lawn!
Yew!! Takes a music to know a musician.
Nailed it! That *does* translate really well to banjo.
Great song! What are your dog’s names? You’re just surrounded by animals! Good for you!
Love it Phoebe... you’re pickin’ Petty! ❤️
I ❤this! Thank you. As a fellow banjo player, you inspire me. 🥰
