I can’t remember where I heard it, but one photographer said their go-to tactic was to give the friend a task, for example holding up a reflector. Where you put yourself in the position of directing the friend and they have to focus on a task instead of talking. lol. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I do family photography and wondering if I should offer outfits too...especially for Maternity I do a 30 minute pre session video call with the family. It's a huge game changer for having a successful shoot I do a shot list on Milanote as a guide prior to the shoot. It helps me lead the shoot and structure it Looking for things don't fit in the photo is something huge. I learned it through street photography Agreed...not cutting off limbs is huge lol. Oh great question! I think it makes sense for family + maternity, especially if you have an established style. I don't offer it for brand photography clients, and Ion't think it makes as much sense to keep a client closet for brands since everyone has different colors, styles, etc. Yes I will definitely do a video on lighting!! the next video coming out is all about how to plan for a brand shoot & how I structure the meeting.
@emilykimco That makes sense, brand photography ..the style is based off of their core values and brand recognition while family shoots are more based on MY style. So I can offer clothes that fits my vision a bit more vs brand where you shoot to their brand. I cant wait!
