Great vid. Straightforward....just came to see how to remove the door panel. Much faster than figuring it out myself. Found the part on amazon for $16.........
Thanks so much for the video. The magnet tip is great, did the same thing on mine. surprised this crap is plastic. One thing I did was to fill the gaps around the screw holes I used a 2 part epoxy Loctite E-05CL before installing.
Good vid. This was the second replacement I've done for others. Knowing it's flaw, I used JB Weld 5 minute 2 part epoxy. Mixed a one inch diameter amount with plastic spoon using the handle end. Using the handle end of the spoon, scrape up a nickle sized amount and carefully position it over the opening in the handle between the two threaded bosses and let it run down into that cavity of the handle. Repeat that in the smaller areas in dime size amounts being careful not to drizzle any into the threaded bosses. The first one replaced on a Sky was in 2011 and still going good after 41k miles. Today's replacement on a Solstice had its original handle at 67K miles. I agree that the gussets are inadequate and could have been beefed up when the tooling was made to manufacture these replacement parts.

I just changed mine & this was very helpful. Thanks so much for making it. The handle bolts on mine actually had some of the black sticky sealer - probably from the plastic liner inside the door - on the bolt heads. That made them stick inside the socket when I was both removing and reinstalling them.
My car handle looked broke exactly where the video showed, I followed the video step for step and I was successful in replacing with the new one. Was extremely helpful.
Thanks for the video. Is there much difficulty disconnecting the power mirror connection from the panel? I'm replacing the interior door handle and need to bench it. Thanks for your help 👍
Not that I know of. Check out our interior door handle replacement video by clicking here: th-cam.com/video/pSp02YkB8Ws/w-d-xo.html Hope you find it useful. Thanks.
Hi David, I have a pontiac Solstice and the inside door handle mechinisum is not opening the door. Its like maybe the spring is broken. I wanted your video to replace the door handle however I am not sure exactly what is wrong. Any ideas, I can pull the inside door handle however nothing will release the door.
Since a number of the parts are plates it is likely one of them has broken due to age. You will have to remove the door panel to find the damaged part. Thanks for watching our video. Hope you found it useful.
Since the rear two bolts are broken, if you take the front out first, will it then allow you to get the handle off and work on the outside of the back two bolts a bit easier?

Good question. No, I'm sorry to tell you that it won't work out. Thanks for watching.
FYI, some of the replacement handles require bigger screws than the originals
That's good for our viewers to know. Mine didn't, but there could have been changes made.
