    It’s all my fault, I jinxed Adam. 😅 so before the biggest fish turned in, I got too excited that I took a picture of Adam holding the $3,000 Check and Congratulated him because I’m 100% sure he’ll take the win. Never thought that there’s still 42” striped bass swimming around in the coast. 37.5” is tough to beat. Sorry Adam 😞

    Adam, I’ve always heard one should not crank on a spinning reel while a fish is taking out line. Supposedly it twists the line. Thanks for the nice two striper video!

  • @greglamb1988
    @greglamb1988 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm sure you know this because you fish so much but if you reel while the drag is spinning, all you are effectively doing is twisting up your line on a spinning reel.

    On the East Coast, I like to get in between the first and second breaker wearing waders, and try to cast as far out as possible. That is in the Chesapeake and along the Atlantic and Gulf Coast of Florida, I generally have good luck. Don’t know if West Coast strippers like the same thing, but they seem to like cold water wherever I see them. I catch freshwater stripper at Jordan Dam in the tail race 20lb+ just south of Raleigh, NC. They like a green 2” stinger grub tipped with cooked shrimp. I think the shrimp is the smell they want.

    Nice Catches!! Your first fish was about without stripes, pretty much white. Why do you wind/crank the reel when the drag is screaming; you're twisting your line? You're not gaining any ground/line; or are you? When the drag stops, that's when I usually crank. Maybe I'm doing something rally wrong. You catch lots of fish; tough to find a fault! Stripers always low light!!

      Velella is a monospecific genus of hydrozoa in the Porpitidae family. Its only known species is Velella velella, a cosmopolitan free-floating hydrozoan that lives on the surface of the open ocean. It is commonly known by the names sea raft, by-the-wind sailor, purple sail, little sail, or simply Velella. ~Wikipedia
