Great tutorial video, one thing: It's probably better to use smart connect instead of having both 2.4G and 5G two networks, 5G isnt always better, 2.4G has better connection and speed when you get far from the router.

Dear Sir, thank you for this setup/installation. It was very helpful to connect to my modem thru ethernet port. I live in Kerala and I have Kerala Fiber @ 250Mbps service. The modem provided is a local brand which is then connected thru ethernet to a Mercusys wireless router. I was able to replace the Mercusys with this Tp link. and everything works fine. BUT. It's not what I need. I need to be able to keep the Mercusys connected to the Fiber modem and then bring this Tp link upstairs to second floor and connect wirelessly (i.e piggyback) off the Mercusys. Ive spent hours trying, ive checked so many websites but I cant get the WAN to work. ANY insight would be appreciated. Is this router capable of connecting wirelessly to the Mercusys.
as of right now i have a cheap Mi 4c connected wirelessly to the Mercusys and then a wired connection to the TP link. It works and is functioning but the MI4c doesnt give the speeds i should be getting. Im considering getting rid of these seperate routers and just purchasing The TP-Link Deco S7 AC1900 Whole Mesh which is 12,000inr/145 US dollars. Don't really know what is best to do.

I ask as my laptop sits in the lounge next to my tv and the router is in another room and I don't want an ethernet cable running all over the place. If that's the only way you can set it up I'll sell the TP-Link 1900 that I just bought.

You do not need a cable from the router to your laptop. The only cable you need is between this router and your internet service provider’s modem. The laptop connects to this through wifi (wirelessly).
