You know what? I don’t even mind the hate on the Boucher pick, it’s rightly deserved. Not to knock on the guy, but he was absolutely a reach and could have likely been taken in the 2nd round. Yet another masterclass move by Dorion whom I will not miss one bit.
Allegedly, the Rangers were in on him, and that's why the Senators didn't trade back, so they panicked and took a consensus 2nd rounder at 10th overall. Woof
@@JHockeyFan Before I had chosen to watch this video, I had watched one on the bus Winger Ilya Mikheyev had been for the Canucks, and what the Canucks should do about him. I had thought of various Canucks draftees who had been picked outside the top-10 in a given Entry Draft, with Thatcher Demko, Brock Boeser and Arturs Silovs having become quite active at the NHL level. I thought of top-10 draft picks of the Sens, with Tyler Boucher having headed towards bust territory after having put up multiple seasons of under a point per game during the regular season and postseason in lower leagues than the NHL. That this past season featured not even an average of a half-point per regular-season game at the NHL level makes me wonder if he'll ever get to play in the NHL other than for certain preseason games.

Ottawa really thought they had all the skilled players they needed and snagged Tyler Boucher thinking he'd be their next Chris Neil. It's pretty much guaranteed that isn't going to be the case.
the last 3 years draft and picks trade are just horrible for ottawa! hope for them it will get better this year but it could be a nice video of how the poor decision in the last 3 years from ottawa led to the team being unable to end the rebuild after an amazing 2020 draft!
Tyler Boucher, doesnt look good for NHL. Is it his fault if yheSens scouting went totally off the board picking him so early? Could have had him much later. Poor drafting.
Lego, as a Sens fan we love you! Sometimes the truth hurts....Listen Boucher was a reach and should have gone in the second but appropriately should have gone in the 3rd round ( definitely a reach here) I can tell you that the Sens community was very taken back when he was drafted 1oth overall, we were hoping for Wyatt Johnston or Fabian Lysell. ♫ If you're a Sens fan, I feel bad for you, son; I've got 99 problems, but a draft pick ain't one ♪♫ But no seriously, it feels bad to not only see such a low-ranked draft eligible player go that high for no reason, but also because his development is probably at or near its ceiling insofar as what can be reasonably expected from him. Looks like a bust. He still was under 60 points. Slafkovsky who is ranked the worst first overall pick since Yakapov already has just 7 less points then him at 19! @Siksdevyeah Lafienere has more points than Slafkovsky AND the New York Rangers are in the middle of a rebuild!! And Montreal has a team 10x better than New York but Slaf still struggles somehow 🤷🏻♂️😎
@Siksdev You can’t grasp my point but it is valid. In your mind it doesn’t matter if a good player is on the worst team or the best team he’s going to get the exact same amount of points.
