    I've really been looking at a Heybike Mars and have been looking at other bikes before I take the plunge. Thank you for telling us the temperature the day of your test, because that is a factor many leave out.
    I was looking at the Lectric XP 2.0 because it can be switched to a Class 3 ebike. But it has a smaller battery, no shock absorbing seat, and I think I've aged out of responsibly going 28mph on a bicycle.
    That does it, I'm getting a Heybike!

      @@RVEnthusiast Excellent! I work 5 miles from home should get some exercise. But with the hills I show up sweaty to the office.
      This might sound silly, but most ebikes do not have fenders. Especially the “commuter” ebikes. The Heybike Mars seems to have taken care of little things that really make a difference, such as fenders and a shock absorbing seat.

      I wouldn't want to go 28 miles an hour on a bicycle , all you have to do it hit something and lose control at that speed, I don't think bikes the high rate of speed it's not built like a motorcycle

    How does pas work when you are just using throttle? I thought you used it when only peddling. Here in NH when we are biking we have to follow the motor vehicle laws.If we didn’t stop at stop signs we would be cited. lol!

    • @RVEnthusiast
      @RVEnthusiast  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On the Heybike the throttle is governed by the PAS level. PAS 1 is about 11MPH, PAS 2 about 15-16MPH and PAS 3 about 20MPH. I live in the country, stopping at stop signs? LOL.

  • @LaOwlett

    Only 25 miles... I heard it folds in half too. If it went further I would consider it despite folding (more moving parts = more opportunities for things to break).
    Thanks for your range test my man. :) P.S. It may be ok for the motor to keep riding when you hear her running low, but it's hard on the batteries. Don't run it dead.

    • @RVEnthusiast

    Great Video - Question - I've viewed about 2 dozen folding Heybike videos. I landed up ordering the Mars Heybike since it appears to provide the most fun in its class. I'm waiting for it to be delivered.
    The mileage range on these videos were all over the place. From under 20 miles per charge to 40. What was weird is the range differences were for riding on the same surfaces at the same basic speeds. It leaves me wondering if some of the batteries that are shipped with the bike are deficient.
    I welcome hearing any feedback. Additionally, does the gear you're riding in make a difference for maximizing mileage and if so, what gears are recommended?
    Thanks - JP

      HI Jay, So on this video you seee a person (me) riding throttle only almost full out with exception of giving the motor a chance to catch its breath sorta. A chance to cool down somee although I never noticed this motor anything but warm. I rode If I remember correctly about 25 miles never peddling one rotation. I do this to makee sure it falls in a acceptable range with me being a big guy. This bike did great! Better than I expected by about 2 miles. It reallt depends on the rider and their weight, as to how much distance you will get. Big like me= less...small=More, by a mile or 2..Not 5 miles more, but certainly better than I got. This bike is truely so much fun, Every time I ride it I fall in love with it again and again. Thee gears do make a lot of differance in how far and how fast you go and how much effort you want to put into peddling. Im spoiled so I want to havee fun, Im not out there trying to get exercise, Im out trying to have fun period. You will get q feel for it when you get it and start riding. Its pretty friendly e-bike to ride. PAS1=10MPH PAS2=15MPH PAS3=20MPH. If you are in PAS0= no motor being used at all and it will be like an old old bike that is 60Lbs and hard to ride. I usually don't use it..My wife does as she like to feel the burn. Not Me! LOL. Good luck and check back in. Appreciate the great comment. Bruce

    So I am interested what’s your thoughts compared to Magicycle? Of the bikes you have reviews which one do you like best?

    • @RVEnthusiast
      @RVEnthusiast  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting Question Jim. I love the power and pickup of the Magicycle, It's size fits my large frame well. I feel very comfortable on it and I think its built well too. The heybike Mars is pure fun to ride, I enjoy it so much...With my large frame, I probably look stupid as hell riding it. Good thing I have thick skin and when I ride past people and get the look 👀 (Maybe I like the attention) It doesn’t bother me. It is fun for some reason I enjoy riding it. Its only a 20MPH bike, but dang Its fun. It responds quickly to what you want it to do like a BMW vs a truck. The KBO I just did the Unboxing, I have ridden it and I will spoil a future video...Its speed is in between the Magicycle and the Heybike. Its very easy to mount and ride. Its tire size is taller 27.5, but narrower at 2.4. Its very very quiet and looks much like an ordinary bike and quiet enough, most people would think its just an ordinary bike. 500W motor that doesn't feel under powered, because of the thinner tires. Fun to ride as well. I like them all and I guess they are different enough I can say they are all great fun to ride. If I had 2 bike exactly the same I could answer the question better. Like FAT-TIRE TO FAT-TIRE. As these companies blessed me with the bikes, I am biased to them over other brands...its only human and if someone says different I would say B.S. I can and will tell you this. My wife loves the heybike Mars and was very surprised how cute it was and feels more safe at 5'.5". You probably don't like the answer, but its the best I can give you. See you tonight on the livestreem.

      I tried to order a magicycle and they kept pushing back the shipping date (after charging me for the bike immediately, of course.) I looked again and they're still pushing back the date. I ordered in late May and would still not have the bike if I'd stuck with waiting. I canceled my order and ordered a heybike explore. It got here in three days and is an absolute beast.

      @@icestationzebraassociates2460 Love the name by the way. It seems most of the companies charge and then you wait. Magicycle did have a lost shipment (not sure if container fell off ship or what) I think that put them behind, then a longer wait than normal. the growth of the company since the new year is impressive too. Jan1 3000 bikes sold now they are like 15k-20K sold. I think they may have been cought off-guard. Nice talking to you!

      @@samforgione9237 My walk asst is turned on by hitting the walk asst button & to continue holding down the button. I don't have to use the throttle either. It turns wheels by itself. It also will go up the stairs and you walk next to it holding the walk asst button down. ? I'm not sure how much power it uses?

  • @CDM158
    @CDM158 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    One more question? When you come to a stop do you let off the throttle to break? Do you continue to also hold throttle and break?

    • @RVEnthusiast
      @RVEnthusiast  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Take your thumb off the throttle. It will very quickly become very intuitive. Also start in PAS 0 it acts just like a regular peddle bike, just heavy. if you are initially intimidated. I actually just got off the Heybike Mars on a short ride around a newer neighborood going in. Video will be out on Thursday (FYI). such a fun fun e-bike.
