I paid 0 customs and I'm in California, your agent probably didn't arrange the customs process properly for you, they usually set the destination to some Oregon address which has no state tax, then once it's through customs they will tell the local delivery courier to ship it to your actual address

shipping works different in Europe so if you live therte dont worry the lorry will be waiting for the container your bikes in and it'll be processed within 24hrs of reaching a sorting facility then sent to your local depot and then to you not much takes longer then a week once inside the uk. i work in logistics
