great video, my hack for a quick IPA is to use Voss Kveik yeast and set your all rounder in a sous vide bath at 90 deg.F and you will be drinking in a week. Cheers
I finally just found another job after a terrible redundancy during the first lockdown. Now I'm back on, I'm fully buying the equipment to do this. I love how you can really explore different styles, it seems a great pastime, kinda like gardening or making food recipes.
For an even quicker kettle-to-glass time, try some Kveik yeast strains. I know one of your requirements was to only use stuff you already have at home, but if you don't have some Kveik already, you should definitely get some!
Hello, i am a new starter w,th homebrew. I have tried couple of recipies including yours. This one was absolutely amazing. There is something with all the beers that i made; it makes you sleepy with 1 bottle. Why do you think this is happening? Thanks for you answer in advance.
I have the same problem. I'm out of beer and have to wait till my next pay day. Usually I think of clean yeast strains like white labs 001 and safle 5, but 029. Wow. That would give a nice malt backbone. I love that strain for Kolsch and Blonde ale. Anytime I think IPA I think dry and hoppy finish which is perfect.
Have you done a video on your yeast bank? I know you did one on making starters but would love more information on bulk/long term storage of harvested yeast
I actually have an allrounder and will be brewing up my first batch in of once the ferm chamber is done. What tool are you using at around 6:19 to open/close the lid, and for what purpose? Might it be something handy for me?
That cane with the All Rounder for me. Provides some grip so you can more easily tighten and loosen the lid. They sell them at hardware stores I think.

I haven’t made a batch of beer since 1993! My buddy and me would spend a full Saturday making 4 or 5, 5 gallon batches.. we were into it.. we used soda figgles to keg it.. I still have my glass car boys..
Hi this is Nathan, hope you are safe, I have some doubt just clarify, How long does the entire process took for tastings the beer. Why did you put the hops in the last stage of fermentation is well.
The beer was a couple of weeks old at tasting. Quicker than usual as it was fermented under pressure. Adding hops in later in the fermentation contributes to the aroma of the beer.
I would LOVE to know how old are some of the oldest hops in your freezer. Personally I have some in mine that around going on 3 years I think. What are your thoughts on whether they’re any good?
18 months I think. At least that’s when I purchased them. I’m hoping that as they are frozen and vacuum sealed that they’ll stay good a for a good while longer
Hey Martin. Silly question, where did you get the containers you store your grains in? I suspect you are living in the USA but I’m in Europe and I am struggling to find those types of container. I’ve seen them on Amazon.com as “pet food” containers but with the import taxes and carrier charges it’s just not worth it... What brand are they? maybe I can find an International equivalent. Cheers keep up the good work !!
Just did similar with a bells two hearted clone I fermented in a corny, after adding dry hops added the spunding valve set at 30 psi to stop off gassing of hop aroma and to kickstart carbonation. Cold crashing and watching the spunding valve pressure readout It dropped down to 10psi from 18-2c showing all that co2 getting absorbed. It was grain to glass in 15 days (Could be faster but it took 8 days to hit FG, damn slow but fruity wlp051 yeast) 80% carbonated coming out of cold crash. I reckon with a slightly lower ABV and kveik yeast we could do grain to glass in 7 days
Man we are really struggling through this quarantine!! I’ve got a California Common cold crashing right now. Cheer and looking forward to this being over so we can brew together!
My local brew club, we decided to pull a beer style out of a hat and brew it. I was making up the list and I was looking at the cali common and I thought yeah, I'll keep that in there, what's the chance that will be the first one we pull out. And of course that was the one we pulled out. 8 People brewed it their own and it was amazing that we had very different beers. Even though we used similar ingredients.
Asking around before I buy the Clawhammer system. Why the much more expensive Clawhammer then the Anvil Foundry with pump? Aside from the ease to which you can replace the heating element and maybe nicer controller (with trying neither I can only go buy my perception on this one) is there really much difference? Is the Clawhammer worth twice the money? Thanks.
Is there a name for the vessel that you put the hops in the boiler? I assume it's built in, but, I don't have one... It would save me a good amount of time after the boil.
Martin. I know you usually brew smaller batches. Is the recipe posted for a smaller batch or a 5 gallon batch. If it is a smaller batch what amount of water did you start with, I use the Clawhammer system as well, just want to do some smaller batches. Keep up the great work.

Have you considered putting a motor on youe grinder? You can get like a windscrren wiper motor for a few quid and build a rolling mill table :-) no need for a drill that can catch fire from grain dust!!
Nice to see you using the fermzilla for carbonation too! You should try and do a quarantine NEIPA next because the fermzilla really shines for heavily hopped beers with zero oxidation!
I love that you've been including concepts like spunding valves, dry hopping near the end of fermentation, floating dip tubes and serving from the fermentation vessel. I'm just waiting for you to put all of it together for one beer. Do you have any experience with cold crashing or gelatin fining?
