Yes! I would not have found other bands that were involved with Pigface on my own. They are the Supergroup of Generation X. I talked with Martin Atkins for about 30 minutes during a show; about building decks in NJ and Killing Joke and Pigface he was awesome. I didn't get an autograph and selfies weren't a thing back then. I was just some meddling kid. I was 33. 😂
This blows my bricks out! Especially when Kevin decides to do his own personal thing during song, sit down, have a smoke as a vocalist. Lol. I smoke while I play flute.
This is so fucking cool, a year earlier and NIN were opening for Skinny Puppy, you can even see Ogre looking over at Trent like "fuck yeah man you're up here now, let's do this shit" fucking fantastic
I live in Pittsburgh and all the Gen Xers in my life tell me so many insane stories about Metropol. I get filled with so much longing and nostalgia and envy when I hear their stories, and I feel it even more now after watching this video! I wish it was still around bc it sounded like the coolest place ever! I guess every era has to end, just sad I couldn’t experience clubbing or catching a gig there.
Before the Strip was stripped, I drove by the old place and told my son"dont talk shit about me being deaf, I stuck my head in a speaker cabinet at the Melvins concert right behind those doors, pointing at Metropol 😢
A moment in time. When egos weren't inflated and musicians came together for the sake of art/ music. This is a classic. We don't see much of this anymore.
Sure you do, you see it all the time. Last night I watched Bruce Springsteen sing a Dropkick Murphy's song with them. Sure, once you reach a certain level, the studios have a hard time, and schedules have a hard time making stuff like this happen. But in '91 these names weren't at that level and right now are a lot of bands and names at the level these names are getting together to share/create music. And 29 years from now someone will post of video of those now big names and someone will post "A moment in time."
The first concert in Norway was right after the band started, almost nobody have heard of them, and few tickets sold, so few that one of the members took pictures from stage. I was not there but regrets not being there, with almost the whole industrial scene on one stage, Trent was there, Ogre was there and other known name.
cmon man t rez is easily the most recognisable name out of the entire pigface line up, dont blame this guy for trying to get some views and who knows maybe this vid will bring some nin fan to discover pigface, all works out in the end bud
@@tabanger Guess we were extra lucky to have him at the Pigface show we were at then. Was a great night & a great time with a lot of wonderful performers.
You can tell just by watching this how Trent was predestined to something big! Look the passion of this young lad performing with a band that isn't even his lol
Trent was in limbo at the time. He had a half dozen record companies fighting to snatch him from TVT. Not allowed to release new music, not allowed to tour as Nine Inch Nails. This project was under the table and a rare outlet.
Trent and Ogre on vocals, obviously. That’s Raven on bass and I’m pretty sure it’s Tucker on guitar. Martin must be on drums. Maybe Bill also? Hard to see on this vid. Who else was on this first tour? Chris? En Esch? Maybe Matt Schultz with the ATG? RIP, Metropol. We had some good times together for sure.
For a little bit at the start I was like "I knew Reznor was influenced by Ogre and admitted to ripping off the beat from "Dig It" but this is ridiculous" then I realised it was Ogre and Reznor wasn't in shot yet LMAO.
Just think Trent was a roadie for Al Jourgensen and Co. a couple years beforehand and now he’s doing a song he wrote with Nivek Ogre! And it’s awesome!!!
I remember meating Chris Connely, William Tucker and Martin Atkins...they all hated the first album.Personally I always felt Gub and Fook have some brilliant moments...timeless music.
Reznor has a gift for making every song he sings sound the same. He talks, the talks with more urgency, then the band ramps it up and he screams. Horrific little twerp.
Pigface doesn't get enough credit for bringing the many talents of industrial, punk and other alt music together in one place.

@@mattcaracciolo1139 that’s so sick! Best way to lose your hearing in my opinion haha
Watching Ogre, so relaxed...Only during a Pigface Show!
Didn’t need a ton of talent to be in this group just lotta drugs. Glad Trent didn’t stay in this too long though.
this is it. the single best performance / recording / etc EVER of this song. the stuff my teenage years were made of.
I can't believe it's been almost 30 years and I still remember the words!! 🖤
Imagine being there
Kevin's voice way overtakes the throne upon arrival. ❤
Ogre is blasted out of his mind, and I love every minute of it! Haha. Wish I was there.
His smoke just falls out of his mouth at 3:40.
Seems like maybe a hefty dose of LSD by his mannerisms lol my mans going through it for sure

Paul Raven (Killing Joke, Murder Inc, Ministry, Prong) on bass.
Good to know. Super dope.
This is how I feel about life in general.
Ogre on some good drugs.
This is the best version of the song compared to both of the album counterparts imo (Edit: One's an EP but you get what I mean)
It's solid for sure. And good listening.

Thirty in a couple weeks & still stands the test of time. Was lucky enough to catch them both in 91' at the Dallas,Tx show. Good times.

*Pigface
Trent's a member, there's no reason to credit him separately.
Rod Jonse Trent was not a regular touring member of Pigface. He only appeared on stage with them for about 4 dates on this tour.
there were like 300 members might as well point them out now and then especially when they helped write it
