Devin starts out by saying “I’m trying to figure out what numbers he’s looking at?” They start talking through the numbers as a group and learn that Devin has 14 career punt return touchdowns, 5 career kickoff return touchdowns as well as the only player to ever take an opening kickoff in a Super Bowl back for a touchdown. Chantel explains how Pac-Man Jones has 5 punt return touchdowns and 0 kickoff return touchdowns. Devin explains how he was upset to see Brandon and Chad “agree” with Pac-Man by not saying anything when he was on the show.
D.J. begins to explain how throughout his playing career, he has never been in a special teams meeting that talked about game planning against Pac-Man Jones. But he has always game planned for Devin Hester.
Chad shows up fashionably late to the show and is ecstatic to see Devin. The group informs Chad on what he missed out on. Devin calls him and out and says how he is mad at him, as well as Brandon for not defending his name after Pac-Man said his statement. Chad doesn’t remember him saying that and requests to see a video clip. Devin talks about how his favorite kickoff return touchdown was from the Super Bowl and explains the story behind that.
The conversation shifts as Brandon asks Devin about a story Devin told about his relationship with Jay Cutler. Devin explains how him and Julius Peppers noticed that Brandon and Jay were arguing before practice and said that he heard Brandon say “I own you. If it weren’t for me there would be no Jay Cutler.” Devin and Julius made a bet to see whether Jay would end up throwing to Brandon in practice. He ended up throwing the ball to Brandon about 20 times. The group starts to joke about getting either Devin, Brandon or Chad to call Jake to find out the truth behind this story.
Brandon, D.J. and Devin start to talk about their time at the Bears and how they were set up for success but couldn’t figure it out internally. They had all the weapons they needed to win football games but felt disorganized as a team. D.J. said “We had too many great players…but it wasn’t clicking.”
Chantel continues to move the conversation by asking why football players try to fight each other when they have helmets on. D.J. answers her questions by explaining the aggression that comes from playing with a passion. He says players fight so much because that’s what the game is built on. Brandon immediately brings up the Deron Williams vs Frank Gore fight that took place. Chad explains how he thinks Deron took time to properly train for this fight, while Frank came in a little unprepared. Chad starts to relate to Frank by saying how hard it is to fight for that long in the ring. He can tell Deron has been doing it for a while. Chad believes Frank will be back. D.J. explains how it made him upset see Deron push him to the ground and uppercut him, and how if he was Frank they would need to “black this out.”

I’ll never forget meeting Devin Hester at the barbershop when I was 13. It was his last year in Chicago and I moved to Virginia a couple months later and saw him house his final kick return as a Bear at FedEx stadium🐐
I was at that game as an employee and was close enough to see him catch and take it to the house!

In a way, Devin Hester played a role in the decision of them deciding to move the kickoff up. Nobody was even close to his skill level! I guarantee you every single team was afraid to kick to him deep down, even in his last years. The NFL literally had to nerf Hester and Kickoffs because he was so good! I'd say that qualifies him as a first ballot Hall of Famer lol, I joke! Obviously, it's because it's a high-risk injury play, but damn, you know it was in the back of their minds! They were also a little salty cause they knew they would never have anyone close to as good as Hester! Out of 32 teams, only the Bears voted NO on the rule change! Everyone's response "Well, we don't have a Devin Hester!!" Facts! Bear Down! DH23! G.O.A.T. I met Devin after his rookie season at I think it was the West Towne mall for a signing. He had his wisdom teeth removed that morning and sat there for 6 hours signing and being cordial with everyone doing his best to smile. He had an assistant get him a smoothie from the mall and he started sucking on the straw. My mom ran up on stage and told him he can't suck on a straw after having a tooth removed. We got to talk to him a little bit after that, get a picture with him and got my pro bowl jersey signed, along with the picture of him looking at the jumbo tron in the SB. Coolest athlete I've ever met hands down. Will always have love for D Hest.

I think it’s time to tackle the elephant in the room. 🐘 Just avoiding this issue altogether is a big mistake and it needs to be addressed ASAP. Respectfully not every male show needs a woman. There are plenty of woman's shows with no male input, why cant guys ever chop it up as men? Keep one show as I am Athlete and one show as I am Woman.

I like I AM Athlete cause it was top players doing locker room/barbershop talk without talking super media trained. Can’t say I miss them. Fred was cool, just boring af. Channing was aight, at least he was funny sometimes. I actually prefer the switch up so we get to hear from more athletes.

Facts
Ocho and Fred was the main guys to me because they were both dark horses in the league but in different ways and they definitely the realest and knowledgeable. Then Channing was the icing on the cake because he had no filter he was gonna tell the truth
It's kinda funny that it's Brandon's show but is some what the least interesting.
No doubt the other OG cast members were the main stars and were definitely more interesting and always had great things to say.
Brandon seems to be too emotional at times and always mental health stuff. Which is nothing wrong and I respect it.
It does need to be discussed but Brandon forces the issue to much and loves to cut off people all the time.
Sometimes Brandon be kinda rude being asking real deep questions or trying to open a old wound, some things should just be kept on a more personal level or off camara.
But I knew this show was too good to be true in season 2
Once money and sponsors get involved the rawness and authentication of the show becomes compromised.
And more corporate. And I'm Not mad at you getting your money. That's fine, but what made this show soo good back then was the non corporate feel, unlike ESPN and NFL network etc...
