Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make a Cranberry Christmas Cake. Special occasions deserve a special dessert. So this Christmas you may want to try this Cranberry Christmas Cake. It is remarkably similar to a Black Forest Cake, only instead of cherries, we are filling the cake with sweet yet tangy candied cranberries. It starts with a chocolate genoise, that is filled chocolate whipped cream and the candied cranberries. And then the whole cake is covered with a stabilized whipped cream frosting. So festive, so beautiful, and so delicious.

I made this cake and it was so Amazing. Such a lovely recipe. We don't get fresh cranberries here, so I did the same process with dried cranberries. And my family enjoyed it.
I made the same recipe of Genoise and made a pineapple cake with wipped cream. It was loved by all. Love to you from Goa.

I found this recipe in the Honolulu Newspaper about 35 years ago, and it was great. Lost it, and am glad to find your version, but I loved it with the original homemade whipped creme fraiche topping.

It does take time, but the end product looks like it’s well worth it.

Wow that is one long process for a cake. I am retired so I gave the time but I never would of found the time to make this cake when I was a very busy mom of 3 and also a a husband to see to.

What is the texture of the candied cranberries? Like maraschino cherries? I just baked a batch of cranberries-coconut-chocolate chip cookies and the combination of tart with the chocolate was sublime so I'm anticipating a delicious and sublime cake too!!!! Thanks!

I wish we could get cranberries all year.
Most grocery stores carry frozen cranberries year round. When cranberries are in season I usually buy extra and freeze them myself.
My favourite baking lady in the whole wide world 😘 I don’t know what D hell I did to my chocolate cake 🤦🏽♂️ Lord put a hand on me! Now my neighbours waiting for this famous chocolate cake that was smelling up the place 🤦🏽♂️ I think I made chocolate with aloe Vera dumpling instead 🤢😷 it heavy and bitter bitter bitter!

This cake looks absolutely wonderful! However, I personally don't like cranberries that much and would love to try it with cherries instead. Would the process to make the candied cranberries work just the same for cherries? I would really appreciate it if you let me know Stephanie! I think I'll definitely try this one for Christmas! :)
You could use bottled morello cherries, like a Black Forest Cake. You wouldn't need to candy them, as they are already soft and sweet.

Why does the cake look pink in the thumbnail?
I put pink food coloring in the whipped cream frosting. I forgot to do that step in the video, so the frosting is white.
If we dont get fresh canberry than can we use packet one
