Having put over 1,300 hours into PZ myself, I love watching videos like this. They bring back many fun yet often traumatic memories of when I first started down the PZ rabbit-hole. Nice work.
I click on this video unkowingly that I have watched this till the end and then realise you still a small youtuber with small views and likes but somehow your content is just deserve a way more for the effort, keep it up making video like this!
the progression is crazy. Took me 100 hours to get too 2 weeks survived... in all honesty I could've lived longer if I didn't get bored and start taking on massive hoards all the time but that's besides the point. This was a really well bad video, awesome job with it!
This is HUGE progress for a new player, but you're not quite at the real mall challenge yet. The next step is to turn off multi-hit. It's a good guardrail to help new players and I won't hate on anyone for using it -- the difference in normal play like you were doing in Rosewood isn't that big once you get used to it. You just have to be a little more careful about combat movement stuff that you're already picking up on really well. However, it makes a MUCH bigger difference in highly populated close quarters like this. Imagine opening that door towards the end, but your shove/swing only hit one zombie at at time. THAT is what makes the mall so brutal. If you pull that many in Rosewood, you have plenty of time/space to maneuver and chip away at it. You don't have that luxury in the mall, so it forces you to be much more judicious about situational awareness. You can only kill them so fast, is there enough space behind you to safely backpedal while fighting that? If you have to turn around, do you expect to be able to squeeze through a group? It's absolutely relentless.
Love challenge runs myself yet never tried out project zomboid. It definitely looks a lot of fun; Do you plan on posting a follow up video in a few month re-trying the challenge and see how far you manage to get?
I started playing this game off and on in what little spare time I have since last January. I am just now starting to get confident enough in my skills to take on Louisville. Almost a year later haha
going from rosewood to louisville mall is like going from elwyn forest to molten core
