    Thank you so much for the kind words regarding our sketchbooks, Wendy. It means a lot to us that you trusted our products!
    And thank you for making this information easily accessible. So many artists end up giving up on making art due to the lack of proper information... This is a gem!! - Ânia

    That is so good to find out about your ancestors. Last year my family & I made a pilgrimage to northern Florida to where my ancestors were brought as slaves to the U.S. from Minorca, an island off the coast of Spain. After they got away from the Plantation, they walked to St. Augustine and helped build the town. I imagine you know this when I say it, I felt a huge sense of belonging…

    • @willawanders
      @willawanders  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      that is wild! Have you had a DNA test yet to find out where you ancestors came from before they were on Minorca? Or do you think they were Minorcan? I would like to know more about the history of this.

      @ minorcan. And we knew we were from Spain on my mom’s side & then we learned we were from the island.

    No way!!! My favourite colour combo is pink and green, too!!!! There is just something about it … I don’t think I have ever come across cross a pink and green combo that I couldn’t imagine being great for something. I think it is because, to me, pink seems to represent happiness and fun, and green seems to be associated with peace and calmness and nature. I always wanted a pink and green bedroom growing up …

    I’m always reminded of the C I received in college when I watch your classes/videos. My painting instructor said I needed to stop dulling down or graying my colors and work more with pure pigments. Color is so subjective. How do you grade someone because you don’t like their color and tone choices?🤫

      There is something baked into the art teacher art student dynamic that makes it ripe for trauma. The stories are ENDLESS of how it messes people up, myself included.

    Loved watching this process. Amazing colors. What happens when you want to recreate a color swatch? How do you remember how to make the color?

    • @willawanders
      @willawanders  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      great question! You may not like my answer though. I just don't worry about it. I rarely mix a color this way that I don't like, and I have enough of an intuition from the thousands of hours of color mixing I've done now so that I can get pretty much whatever color I want if I really wanted to do that. But I seriously don't try for anything too specific. I might go for a "yellow green" or a "blue green" but that's as specific as I go!

      The exact watercolor sketchbook that I am using in this video is the Cold Pressed paper version of this book (it is available in both Hot and Cold Pressed, but Cold Pressed is probably what you want): etchrlab.com/products/tps-signature-series?variant=41812743323757
      Etchr has many fine watercolor sketchbooks that would be perfect for this kind of relaxation painting.
