Football in the snow! - players were tough, real men back then. I used to watch Hull City in the 60's/70's (standing on Bunkers Hill, Boothferry Road ground in all weathers) and can't recall seeing anyone crying on the pitch or rolling around in agony if someone caught their shins/ankles. It would be interesting to watch a match now between 1970's and 2020's footballers to see how much the game has changed. It's probably a no brainer as to which side would survive the longest!
Number 11 my Uncle. Ian Butler. I was dragged around to every game as a kid with my family in the back of my dads van to watch. I’d love to re-live it now. Football just isn’t the same.
It's all about the memories! Thanks for your comment, I hope your uncle is keeping well. He was spoken about in hushed tones by my Grandad which was the sign of a decent player! You might be interested in my latest upload - thanks again!
Outstanding footage. Brilliant football, big crowd, no question of calling it off. Better days.

Snow (or 'sner' in Hull)? Bugger it; just mark the pitch out and give 'em an orange ball. Great days!
Wouldn’t happen now would it? Bluddy Jessie’s 🤣
Gerry Harrison commentating in Hull?
Yes, it will have occured when we came under the Anglia region.
Poor little darlings wouldn't play in that today
I know they hard men back then but a goalkeeper not wearing gloves in snow.
Did the keeper punch him there??
Probably!
Poor old Charlie Wright. Charlton were crap in those days.
