Sorry about your loss. This MRE is really good but I just don't know why they took out the fried rice in 2016. It was great to lay the rice down and then put the main over top of it better then most take out to me. Awesome Review! Hope to see you keep climbing towards that 100k.
sorry to hear that Sherman passed, I agree about the snack bread, it has to get gone !!!! I had a '80s wheat bread that came in the same box ad the first gen MRE I did last month. that bread was pretty darn good for its age !!! now THAT was real bread !!! MREs need to go back to something like that

This was the last year of this menu so maybe they eighty-sixed the rice because they knew the menu wasn't going to be around much longer. It's a shame too. This main with the rice was one of the better MREs. So sorry to hear about Sherman. Nice review brother. Keep em coming!
Asian beef strips is second to chicken, tomatoes and feta cheese in my book! Wish I could find more. I think they're done for. For better handling in the turns dump the bev base it the gator bottle! Keep up the excellent work.

What an odd combo for a ration. Sometimes I wonder if they do that on purpose lol. Would be nice if they added the rice to some of those rations. It’s not like white rice is costly.

Beef strips with no rice to put them down on?! No starchy carb of any kind to put them down on?! I get that there's noodles in it but they should have the noodles separate at least. What gives?! So sorry about Sherman's passing it's always tough to lose a beloved pet.
I just ate one for lunch and it was not great for me. The strips were way too chewy. It may have just been me though because many people like it. Poor Sherman.
It seems like they are removing stuff like rice, which is good for you, and replacing it with a load of sugar and chemical filled stuff like you'd buy as snacks from a gas station on a road trip. Compared to rations from some other countries, it's a joke. And not a funny one, at that.

Asian Beef Strips is gone, but they replaced it with Beef Goulash which is a real winner!!
Sadly the SB doesn't last forever and isn't bulletproof; I had one from a ration about nine, ten months old that'd gotten moldy.
