    Hello, :)) I enjoy content on your channel, as is direct, short, and well explained. I wonder, could you recommend to me some other youtube channels that introduce psychology, and psychotherapy in a similar way as you do?

      I'm really pleased to hear you enjoy my content. I'm unable to comment regarding other TH-cam channels but I can confirm I am producing weekly videos. Watch this space for more psychology and psychotherapy content. Wishing you well, Teresa.

    Is acceptance considered as a type of defense mechanism?

    • @LewisPsychology
      @LewisPsychology  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Acceptance is not a type of defence mechanism. Best wishes, Teresa.

      Thank you for the reply. If acceptance is not a defense mechanism,what should it be considered as?

    Scenario: A married man who is sexually attracted to his younger sister in law just engaged the services of a prostitute. For an observer, the married man may have used displacement,substitution and sublimation depending on the reasons for the trasnfer of the original desire to another. Then buying flowers for both his wife and sister in law , a thing he does not usually do ,as a form of undoing. Emotions are really a form if energy, it can never be destroyed, only transformed to other forms.

    What about displacement

    • @LewisPsychology
      @LewisPsychology  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, displacement is also a defence mechanism, Best wishes, Teresa.

    Is denial involve daydream and fantasy? Plz explain 😔

    • @LewisPsychology
      @LewisPsychology  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your question. I would say no because we are aware when we daydream or fantasise. With denial it is usually others that recognise our delusion. Best wishes, Teresa.

      @@LewisPsychology thank you, so which involves daydream and fantasy? Is repression or something other ?

    • @LewisPsychology
      @LewisPsychology  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your question, daydreaming and fantasy are not defence mechanisms. Best wishes, Teresa.

      @@LewisPsychology I would also be interested to know how it can be classified; especially if you cannot have the life that you desire realistically, so you end up living it in your head as a fantasy.

    • @bellah33
      @bellah33 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, would fantasies/dreams be considered Replacement or Substitution, that is if these are considered defense mechanisms in the first place?
