The game is very similar to Village, and that game by the way is very thematic and not dry at all as you can actually craft a story of the life of your clan...especially with the 2 expansions included.
Kind of strange that you react to this so positively in contrast to the original "Village", since all of the things you find positive about this one are featured in "Village" as well.
+Christian Heckmann I was about to say exactly the same thing. I was actually expecting Tom to really rip this game apart because all of the reasons he said he didn't like Village seem far more pronounced in this game (less thematic connection, more abstract, more of a point salad). Then lo and behold, he likes it? It does have dice though.
+Christian Heckmann The argument you are using isn't sound. Im not trying to debate nor defend fyi. For example. I did not like the Medium Slim Red PLAID Shirt, but liked the Medium Slim Red FLANNEL Shirt. I like the Flannel Shirt because its red, medium, and slim. I did not like PLAID Shirt because of the thickness of the fabric. All of the things I find positive about the PLAID shirt are featured in the FLANNEL shirt' as well. I dont like plaid, but flannel, even though they share many similar/same qualities. I get that the example is a bit off the rails but hopefully it makes somewhat sense.
+Christian Heckmann The things in Village are done better in My Village. ie. Market Day. (you better hope you have something to sell vs. When I go to the market I can choose the customers that I have the buildings to be able to serve those customers.)
Nations, Through the Ages, Lewis & Clark, Village...everytime Tom is not very keen on a game, it suddenly becomes much better when dice are added to it. :-/

That first player marker is kind of creepy.
Village is an awesome game! One of my favorites and I have both expansions. You are way off on that assessment Tom. Soulless? That is ridiculous.

I feel like Tom needs to play Village again. It's way better than this thing.
I can't understand that someone likes my village more than village ... in village there's so much more complexity...
yeah yeah yeah but is it vomit inducing like village was?
Hey, I know you! :)
You didn't like Village huh? Guess I won't be bringing that out at the cafe or Origins.
lol I havent played either, but Tom said once he hated Village and that it was vomit inducing
My village takes too long compared to village, and the minimal choice of actions as per the dice is a bore
Village is ok, My Village is a lot better.
Sounds worse than village.
Best of the worst game reviewers of our generation.
