I have one of the originals from the 1970’s in very good condition, which my 93 year old dad gave me recently. I’m glad to see Bulova have reissued it.
You’re a lucky guy, I love the 70’s Super Seville Day Dates especially getting from a Grandparent, that’s a cool piece. Nothing beats the old school style of a vintage watch.
I hate to be that guy, but I really think if the water resistance was at least 100m it would be a perfect watch for me, and I would go out and buy the gold version.
Really like Bulova’s reissues , there was a time when all I saw at department stores as a kid was tacky , corny, diamond studded Bulova’s with cheap quartz mvmt’s but since I got into watches 8-9 years ago I’ve grabbed some of their gems, obviously the Lunar Pilot and the Orange Devil Diver but I’ve always liked the 70’s Super Seville Day/Date after seeing examples of it online in perfect shape. I’d definitely grab this reissue. The 262 khz movement just makes it a great daily. The other reasonably budget friendly is the Longines VHP quartz movement. Well done Bulova , Thanks RR I took a long break from my watch addiction but back watching again.
It's cool looking but I don't understand how they came to that MSRP. I'm sure it will be discounted but idk if I could stomach paying even $500. As far as I can tell these are made in Hong Kong. Fancy quartz movement but still a quartz movement at the end of the day.
@@FDLTGM Because if he can't get it to fit perfect, especially with a butterfly clasp, there is no other option. That or not being able to swap it for straps is a deal-breaker for some. Especially on dress watches.
Actual question. 96b444 - I see eBay listings for it but it's nowhere to be found on Bulova's site or most AD's. For a different market, or a fake that doesn't actually exist? Kinda like it's monochrome look and no worries about plating wearing off. Would be unfortunate if it's not real or available.
Would anyone know whether the Bulova - 97D120 bracelet has pin and collar bracelet pins or are they split pins? Appreciate it if anyone can help me out. I won't tackle resizing a bracelet with pin and collar due to lack of sensation in my hands. Otherwise I love to tinker with my watches myself.
The cyclops being the same shape as the dial, it looks great on that one. I'm a huge fan of these retro inspired sweeping 3-hander watches....between this and the Tissot PRX, I say this.
Eat through batteries? What time frame? I have 2 Lunar Pilot models with this quartz movement & am getting over 3 years at least. Battery swaps are as simple as. 🥱
Push pull crown? I’ve watched 20 stupid reviews on this watch, not one single person mentions or shows, if the crown is push pull or screw down. I assume it’s push pull.
@@DisplayKeesBack why change batteries every 2 years when you can get an Eco drive that lasts easily 20 plus years without any batteries replaced? 2 years is not a long time when compared to superior quartz technology.
Valid opinion. For me personally, I don’t really care. I do my own battery changes, and they are easy and cheap enough to do. Solar is kinda cool cause you don’t have to touch the case back for a lot longer (capacitors and rechargeable batteries will fail, but hopefully not for a number of years), so hopefully water resistance is preserved longer. Then again, if you do your own battery changes it’s pretty cheap and easy to swap out the case back gasket. So for me, not that big of a deal.

I have one as well, and I will get this one to match my vintage SS
Beautiful. Hopefully they release in 36
I recently got a Bulova lunar pilot. While expensive for a quartz watch the quality is spot on.
I have 2 of these in different iterations & the accuracy is insane! Great buy!👍🏼👏🏼
If this was solar this would be my ultimate dress/daily watch

I’ll wait for a black one. And they should make a version WITHOUT the polish mid links 🙂
It should also have 100m WR.
Im wondering if it's a new version of this movement scaled down to fit a smaller case?
Precisionists are usually huge.
Good stuff, the sweep is insane
I have the Jetstar in red with the same movement. It's a fantastic piece.
Beautiful watch
Looks beautiful
Do you have to re adjust the date every other month, on the 30 and 28, 29 day months? On I got the time I would not want to interrupt the watch.
Its a Rolex you flattened with a hammer.
Whom are the trusted Dealers you buy from? Can i get a link to there site. Thanks. Lovely watch. Like the Green Dial.

The yneed a white dial version and for a quartz watch it should be 500 max.
I really like it and in my opinion the best reissue. I have the computron and the oceanographer. I would sell my oceanographer and buy this model
Can the band be removed? I think it would look better to me with a leather band.

Interesting. But I don't like it. I do like the Lunar Pilot with a similar 262KHz precision movement.

Cartier makes quartz watches. Would you turn down a Cartier because it's quartz?
Nice. but I'm cautious of integrated bracelet styles
why?

Long Island Watch has them. They’re a Bulova AD

Don't see the 96b444, just like most other AD's.
Came here looking for this question. I think it’s the best looking one out of the bunch, but I could also only find it on ebay.

Get out of here with 30 meters!
lol that’s like 100 solid feet. No one is going down in the water over 100 feet deep unless you’re a literal diver enthusiast
Love the vintage look at that sweep!!!

Great movement, but they eat through batteries due to sweep drain
Then you replace the battery and be on your way.
I'm more concerned with the zit on the crystal. It's perfect otherwise.
@@CP-fm7zy like I said... it's a great movement

Not really they last over 3 years
It seems it lasts at least 4 years...
I wont pay that amount of money on bulova, i add little more and i get omega or tudor
In Europe it's easy to find it at 399€. If you want and Omega or Tudor you have to spend AT LEAST 10 times that amount
That's Pimp. I'll look at my local NEX hell, it might even show up at Walmart?
I’ll be looking for this one on some Sunday
262 khz on the dial? I don't understand the need to put that on there.
Cool, then don't buy it
They give you the sweeping quartz everyone asks for and y'all get anal about dial text
Some things you don't have to understand😂😂
I like it. Similar to “automatic” being written to indicate the movement.
Ye I get it, saying nothing would be better.
One pretty Precisionist here after a line of ugly and gaudy Bulovas.

I normally mention that. It’s a push pull
Until Bulova pairs their 262 khz with solar tech I can't take them too seriously. Life's too short to worry about batteries all the time.
Why not? Just change a battery every two years.

It's something unique they do and the text looks minimal
It's not much different from how many watches put Automatic there, GMT or Swiss Made, it just balances out the dial.
