There’s no controversy because Arch doesn’t want there to be one. The fans want him, the media wants him, and the school wants him out there. He’s cool with sitting and that should be commendable because one tweet and it would get lawd.
Arch is the better QB, but Ewers is a quality QB that could have a future in the NFL. It was Arch's decision to play at Texas so he's gonna have to wait his turn. I'd much rather see Arch play, but Ewers doesn't deserve to be benched. Texas couldn't ask for a better situation.
I think only Texas fans see it how it is. It’s Ewer’s team this year because he put in his time. We appreciate both qbs. Ewers should have been looked at earlier in my opinion because you could tell something was wrong with him after he hit his hand on the other teams helmet. Manning will be great whenever Ewers is gone, but we have had way too many qb controversies to understand what is going on.
I’m not understanding how this is even a controversy. I’m not even a Texas fan and I can see that Evers is #1 and manning #2. Manning came in knowing he was showing to be riding the bench as backup and possibly 3rd string backup and he chose to stay. I’m quite positive him and that positive are 100% ok with whatever Sark decides. And I’m quite positive if unless Ewers has a huge decline he stays starting.
Doesn’t seem like there is one. Manning is smart, he’s patient enough to wait and Ewers is a beast. It was also against a college I didn’t even know existed. Lol
It's one game, with another school of deaf and blind next week, but if Ewers doesn't start in the Mississippi State game, and Arch shows out, yeah, we got ourselves a QB controversy. The Ewrers/Manning situation reminds me so much of the Mahomes/Smith changeover. Alex Smith had an MVP level season the year before he was traded. Mahomes started the last game of the season, without any of the starters, and that combined with what they had seen in practice was enough for KC to pull the trigger on trading Smith. Luckily for Ewers, there's no college trades or portal mid-season, and colleges typically show a little more loyalty to the veteran guys.
No controversy. Ewers is and was clearly the starter this year outside of injury. Dudes a stud. They’re going to ride w him and then get a year out of arch next year and have two years of elite qb play. Nobody who knows what’s going on sees a controversy
