    Great series, thanks for posting this. I was originally thinking about a small picatinny section for the bipod, but after watching I a, looking at Arca mounts, appreciate the real world advice. I am thinking about the area 419 arca lock system, that is compatible I think with most arca rails, the downside seems to be if someone wanted to borrow my equipment, the lock pins would need to be removed before it could be used on their rails. Have you heard anything about that system? As an FYI, I just bought my RPR rimfire with vortex diamondback tactical FFP 6-24/50, hopefully will come in under cost for base class, MSRP had gone up a bit, but I think with the rifle still makes it into the $1200 range. The vortex guy got me all excited about the strike eagle, but I avoided that after I watched your series, wasn’t aware of the cost limitation. So helpful, we all appreciate it

    • @CopperStarPrecision
      @CopperStarPrecision  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have an Arca Lock rail on my PRS rifle and used it with an Atlas bipod with an Arca Lock mount, very stable system. You're right, the pins would need to be removed for a standard Arca/RRS dovetail rail. For NRL22 the recoil will never be enough to strictly need the Arca Lock system. The Area419 rails still accept any standard Arca mount so you don't need to go with their mounts. I think a more universal M-Lok Arca rail is a place you can save money, but Area419 stuff is top notch.
      The Strike Eagle is a great scope and that's what I use on my Open rifle, but almost always makes you breach the cost cap for base class. I hope for next year they raise the limit due to rising prices/inflation. The PRS Rimfire series has a production class with a cap of $1500, but there aren't any matches in my area.
      Ultimately gear makes a marginal difference in performance that you can chase when you become a top contender. Ammo lot testing and trigger time are the keys to success in this sport. Best of luck! You should be very happy with your rifle!

    Do you happen to the model number to that Arca?, I was on their portal, unable to locate it. Want to add my Atlas Bipod to it.

    • @CopperStarPrecision
      @CopperStarPrecision  ปีที่แล้ว

      I got mine at Anarchy Outdoors (looks like they are currently on backorder). I don't have the original packaging, but the number on the rail is 1375 RPRF (which stands for 13.75" Ruger Precision Rimfire). Doing a search for "Ruger Precision Rimfire Arca Rail" should come up with links to purchase (I can't link here due to TH-cam Rules). Hope that helps.

    @theta-agency ปีที่แล้ว +1

    where did you get the grip from? I cant find that particular one.

    • @CopperStarPrecision
      @CopperStarPrecision  ปีที่แล้ว

      I got mine from Anarchy Outdoors, but Masterpiece Arms has 4 in stock right now (they make the grip). Search "MPA EVG Grip (Enhanced Vertical Grip)" on Google. Should be in the first few links (can't link here due to TH-cam rules).
      You more than likely will need to do a little bit of work to make it fit correctly. I used a Dremel with a sandpaper wheel/grinding wheel. You could use coarse sandpaper by hand, just might take you longer. Go slow and remove a little bit of material at a time until you get a nice flush fit.

    Sir. What is the length of the rifle with the stock fully collapse?

  • @metalartforms1
    @metalartforms1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was told I could NOT change the grip or add a bag rider according to base class rules. Because that is changing the stock.

    • @CopperStarPrecision
      @CopperStarPrecision  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's an unnecessarily strict interpretation of the rules and flat out wrong in my opinion. Hand grips are specifically mentioned in the rules as an item that does not add to the budget (and by extension must be an acceptable change). Also, this isn't a stock, it's a chassis. It has a pic rail section specifically designed for attachments. So you aren't altering it, you're just adding an accessory in an intended location. Same goes for the grip, it is not an integral part of the chassis, so you aren't altering it. If you started taking a hacksaw to the structural components then I could see that being in violation of the rules, but as it stands these are perfectly legal upgrades.

    will you be adding an extended mag release or the spring button to reduce mag wobble ?

    • @CopperStarPrecision
      @CopperStarPrecision  ปีที่แล้ว

      My rifle doesn't suffer from too much mag wobble, but I am looking into the extended mag release for those stages that require mag changes.

    • @CopperStarPrecision
      @CopperStarPrecision  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No it does not. Per NRL22 rules for Base Class it is allowed (Rule 5.B.3.a) and does not count towards the budget limit. If you're competing in PRS Production Class then you can't use an aftermarket trigger.
