I sailed the Chesapeake out of Back Creek for many years with my parents (they are long gone now). We had an Edel II that Dad bought at the factory in France, while stationed in Germany. We shipped her back to the States when Dad was transferred back to CONUS. What a great life back then then. There is so much to see and do around the Chesapeake Bay.

Surprised you didn’t mention the Skipjack class of boats. The only commercial oyster fishing craft allowed on the Chesapeake were sailboats. The Skipjack became the boat of choice, and occasionally they even held races for them.
My wife and I grew up sailing the Chesapeake. We're from a small town named Cambridge, MD. I used to race with the CBYRA out of CYC crewing on a Tartan 10 (16 yo old and up) and won the ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) in the little El Toros when I was 12. I hope you make it to the Choptank River; Oxford and Cambridge. They are two great little towns to visit. Cambridge has a nice wine bar (along with other great restaurants and bars) along the old brick street, named High Street. Also, Hyatt Chesapeake Bay Resort and Marina and the oldest MD church are in Cambridge. Thanks for refreshing the memories! Love watching your channel! Back in the 80s my older brothers had a 20’ Citation 🚤 with a 454 Magnum inbound/ outboard motor (top speed 73 MPH). They would dock it down there on the Chesapeake Bay. There was a place right off one of the docks that had great shrimp & crabs. 🍤 🦀 It was called The Granary Restaurant and the Sassafras Grill. 😋 Your video brings back some fond memories. 😎

Kind of funny how traditions vary from country to country. In Denmark you take down your flag in the aft when you sail only flying af small one in the rig and as you cast anchor or get in port you put it up again. Can see that at least in this episode the Stars and Stribes is flying aft when you sail.

Awesome bobby!! Question.... what drone do you use? I use a spark, but still worry when it follows me while on my boat
He uses a Mavic 2 Pro now. He used to use the spark until it crashed and he also had a phantom 4 pro but it’s pretty big to look around.
