Thank you Kirby. Now I am using this knot and I got the proficiency to make it very quick. It is that kind of detail that nobody talk about it but most people notice it.
Kirby, thank you for this video! I used this knot to tie my daughter’s sneakers this morning before school. Not only did it look amazing and lay flat as depicted, but it remained nice and tight all day. She loved it!
I love the Parisian knot! Always do it now for either my "sneakers" or dress shoes. Such a wealth of knowledge! Looking forward to your video from Cuba.
As I went to time I tennis shoes the other day I went to think about this not and here you go reposting this video thanks Kirby for all the good knowledge 🤘
Beautiful and delicious as usual Kirby. Please come to England and book a day on driven English partridge, far superior to pheasant and good practice for driven grouse. You’ve never shot game well till you’ve faced grouse dear boy especially with a good wind behind them. Absolutely fallen in love with your channel Kirby, keep going sir, please do.
Wow! Actually it was quite easy! Did it on first shot. Thank you for this awesome knot! Actually I’ve seen it before but never knew it is something special! I guess from now on I can hear who shouts “I am sophisticated” with his shoe knots, and I’ll shout back. 😄
I’ve been waiting for this in depth video, Kirby. Definitely worth getting you a whiskey in the MacMillan Bar! Love the way the piano music builds up as the knot progresses: great video editing.
I think the first of your vids I came across had a tutorial on these. Good to re-do, because it's a great and better yet...EASY knot to tie. If you care for your shoes, they deserve to look the best the can, and this know does. And it never comes undone! If it still wants to twirl on you, reverse the first over-hand lower portion of the knot. It may take twice as long as the ol' bunny ears...so you go from 5 to like, 11 seconds...you CAN lean to live with that, lol.
Hi Kirby, I am a huge fan of your youtube channel. You really inspired me to take better care my leather dress shoes.. I recently encountered some problem while using saddle soap to clean my shoes, after i applied the saddle soap and dry the shoes, the toe cap area was unable to be buffed into a good shine after I applied the renovateur and creme polish. Instead the toe cap area looks very cloudy.. do you know how to recover this kind of situation? Thank you.
Try the Hamilton way - take the bunny ear in your right hand and take over the left and follow the rest of Kirby's instructions. When done use your fingers to adjust the knot. You will notice that the knot is way more centralized, and it looks way better. Try and see the difference.
Nice video. I have been tying this knot for decades. I learned it as a "Turqoise Turtle Knot" aka the shoeman's knot. The knot holds better if you begin with a twice over wrap before making the right and left loops. The interested viewer can search for instructional videos on TH-cam using the names I give.
When was the old Berluti knot tying process abandoned? I am referring to the particular knot in which only one shoe lace end passed under the double knot.
If you twist the bunny ears in opposite directions before putting them through the hole, you don’t need to grab the ends of the laces. You can just loop both ears through the hole in opposite directions.
So, Olga Berluti didn't actually invent the knot. She took it off the family that actually invented it , didn't give proper credit and put her own name on it as if it was her legacy. Got it. 😁😄. Great knot though. Never slips and only unties when I want it to.
Thank you for making my life better one knot at a time.
From kirby's short a while back, I now tie my dress, hiking, and sports shoes with this knot. It is a game changer. Kids are trying to learn it too.
I am glad you made this video again.
Cause all my shoelaces keep coming loose
Berluti shoe knots and Old Bertie tie knots have both become my go-to's thanks to your channel!
Wonderful!
When it came to ties, I was a half-windsor man until I came across Kirby's wonderful videos. Now for the shoes it seems... :)

All of the sudden I have this urge to tie my shoes differently.
I’ve been waiting for this in depth video, Kirby. Definitely worth getting you a whiskey in the MacMillan Bar!

This was so helpful. Not only it looks good it holds so amazing. I strongly recommend to try it on hiking boots.
I find this knot a bit difficult but once you get it, it’s really nice and clean looking! 👍
Thank you Kirby, it was so awesome and interesting.
I learned this from you before and this is so useful!

I’m BROKE AF but this knot will be used on ALL my BASIC shoes. Only because I’m OCD and this knot is symmetrical !
You would be most welcomed here with us on a Safari on Eland, Sable, Roan and other Antelopes in the highlands of Namibia.
Is that your Terry Haste jacket? Looks outstanding.
Yes it is

You really must do another shoot in Scotland
I've seen other versions where you just pass the loops through but not the ends. What do you think of that. I'm not sure it's quite as symetrical
Thank you Kirby for that idea. But to clearly see the procedure white shoelace would be much better. Black on black is difficult to figure out.
Damn Kirby must get all the hos
To knot, or not to knot - that is the question
Kirby, Kirby..! How do you untie them?🤣😘
When was the old Berluti knot tying process abandoned? I am referring to the particular knot in which only one shoe lace end passed under the double knot.
Wow
You already have several videos on this
❤❤❤
I reckon, that you have already showed smth similar 4 year ago
This knot looks better with flat laces if you can get the loops to lay flat instead of twisted.
If you twist the bunny ears in opposite directions before putting them through the hole, you don’t need to grab the ends of the laces. You can just loop both ears through the hole in opposite directions.
This is great but what is a knot?
An interesting knot, but it was hard to pay close attention while Chopin was being murdered in the background.
Easy when its not on your foot..but when it is...mmmmm
If someone notices I don’t tie my shoes fancy they need to find a hobby. JS….

And her name actually wasn't "Börluhdi" as his pronunciation suggests. 😁
